Setup
1. Battery Installation
The remote control comes with a pre-installed CR2032 lithium battery. If replacement is needed, follow these steps:
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
- Carefully open the compartment cover using a small flat-head screwdriver or a similar tool.
- Remove the old CR2032 battery.
- Insert a new CR2032 lithium battery with the positive (+) side facing upwards.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
2. Programming the Remote Control
The Hormann HSE4 868 BS remote control can be programmed to your garage door or gate operator. The programming procedure is typically straightforward and does not require special equipment. Refer to your specific garage door or gate operator's manual for detailed programming instructions, as procedures may vary.
Compatibility: This remote control is compatible with other BiSecur transmitters such as HS1/HS4/HS5 868 BS, HSE2 868 BS, HSS4 868 BS, HSP4 868 BS, HSD2 868 BS, HSZ1/HSZ2 868 BS. It also replaces older Hormann transmitters operating on 868.3 MHz frequency with blue buttons (e.g., HS1/HS2/HS4 868, HSE2 868, HSM2/HSM4 868, HSP4/HSP4-C 868, HSD2-C/HSD2-A 868, HSZ1/HSZ2 868). New BiSecur transmitters are compatible with all automatic operators produced since 2005.
Note: Older type Hormann transmitters will not work with new type motors equipped with the BiSecur system.
Operating the Remote Control
The HSE4 868 BS remote control features four buttons, allowing you to control up to four different functions or devices (e.g., opening/closing a garage door, operating a gate, switching on/off lights, if supported by your operator).
