1. Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the proper setup, operation, and maintenance of your Baxtran FFN 3M Precision Scale. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device to ensure accurate measurements and safe operation. Keep this manual for future reference.
2. Safety Instructions
- Do not exceed the maximum capacity of 3 kg to prevent damage to the weighing mechanism.
- Operate the scale within the specified temperature range of 0 °C to +40 °C.
- Avoid exposing the scale to excessive moisture or direct water spray. The scale has an IP44 protection rating, meaning it is protected against solid objects larger than 1mm and splashing water from any direction.
- Ensure the scale is placed on a stable, level surface to achieve accurate readings.
- Use only the provided AC/DC power adapter for charging and operation.
- Keep the scale away from strong electromagnetic fields, which can interfere with its performance.
3. Package Contents
Upon unpacking, please verify that all components are present:
- Baxtran FFN 3M Precision Scale unit
- Stainless Steel Weighing Plate (31.5 x 22 cm)
- AC/DC Power Adapter (100-240 V AC, 50-60 Hz)
- User Manual (this document)
4. Setup
4.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove the scale from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage during transit. Place the stainless steel weighing plate onto the scale's platform.
4.2 Power Connection
The scale can be powered by its internal rechargeable battery or directly via the AC/DC power adapter.
- Connect the AC/DC power adapter to the power input port on the scale.
- Plug the adapter into a suitable electrical outlet (100-240 V AC, 50-60 Hz).
- The internal battery will begin charging automatically. The scale can be used while charging.
4.3 Leveling the Scale
Accurate measurements depend on a perfectly level scale. The FFN 3M scale is equipped with a spirit level and four adjustable feet.
- Place the scale on a firm, stable surface.
- Observe the bubble in the spirit level, typically located near the display.
- Adjust the four screw-type feet by turning them clockwise or counter-clockwise until the bubble is centered within the spirit level's circle.
4.4 Initial Operation
After leveling and connecting power, the scale is ready for initial use.

This image displays the Baxtran FFN 3M Precision Scale. It features a rectangular stainless steel weighing pan on top of a white base. The control panel, located on the right side, is blue with a large LCD display showing '0.000 kg'. Several buttons for functions like unit selection, tare, and on/off are visible.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
- To turn on the scale, press the [ON/OFF] button. The display will light up and show '0.000 kg' (or the last used unit).
- To turn off the scale, press and hold the [ON/OFF] button until the display turns off.
5.2 Unit Selection
The scale supports weighing in kilograms (kg) and pounds (lb).
- Press the [UNIT] button (often labeled 'U' or 'kg/lb') to cycle through the available weighing units. The selected unit will be indicated on the LCD display.
5.3 Weighing Procedure
- Ensure the scale is turned on and displays '0.000'. If not, press the [ZERO] button.
- Carefully place the item to be weighed onto the center of the stainless steel weighing plate.
- Wait for the display to stabilize. The stable indicator (often 'STABLE') will appear on the LCD.
- Read the weight displayed on the screen.
5.4 Tare Function
The tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container, so only the net weight of the contents is measured.
- Place an empty container onto the weighing plate. The display will show its weight.
- Press the [TARE] button (often labeled 'T' or 'T-'). The display will reset to '0.000', indicating the container's weight has been tared.
- Add the items to be weighed into the container. The display will show only the net weight of the items.
- To clear the tare, remove the container from the plate and press the [TARE] button again, or turn the scale off and on.
5.5 Overload Protection
The scale is equipped with overload protection. If the weight placed on the platform exceeds the maximum capacity (3 kg), an 'EEEE' or 'OVERLOAD' message may appear on the display. Immediately remove the excess weight to prevent damage to the scale's internal sensors.
5.6 Automatic Shut-off
The scale features a programmable automatic shut-off function to conserve battery life. If no activity is detected for a set period, the scale will power off. Refer to the advanced settings section (if available on your model) for adjusting this time, or consult the manufacturer's website for specific instructions.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
- Turn off the scale and disconnect it from the power supply before cleaning.
- Wipe the scale's housing and stainless steel plate with a soft, damp cloth.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the scale in water.
- Ensure the scale is completely dry before reconnecting power or using it.
6.2 Battery Charging
The internal rechargeable battery provides portable operation. When the battery indicator shows low power, connect the scale to the AC/DC power adapter for charging. A full charge typically takes several hours. Avoid completely draining the battery frequently to prolong its lifespan.
6.3 Storage
When not in use for extended periods, store the scale in a clean, dry environment at room temperature. Ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50%) before long-term storage to maintain battery health.
7. Troubleshooting
- Scale does not turn on: Check if the power adapter is properly connected and plugged in. Ensure the internal battery has sufficient charge.
- Inaccurate readings: Verify the scale is on a stable, level surface using the spirit level. Ensure no objects are touching the weighing plate or base. Recalibrate if necessary (refer to manufacturer's specific calibration procedure, if applicable).
- 'EEEE' or 'OVERLOAD' on display: Remove any excess weight immediately. The item being weighed exceeds the 3 kg capacity.
- Display is blank or flickering: Check power connection and battery charge. Ensure the operating temperature is within the specified range.
