Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the safety and performance of your TV wall mount. Follow these steps carefully.

Step 1: Prepare the Wall

  1. Determine Mounting Location: Choose a location on the wall that is suitable for viewing and has adequate structural support (e.g., wood studs, concrete).
  2. Locate Studs: Use a stud finder to locate the center of the wood studs. Mark the stud edges. For concrete or brick walls, ensure you use appropriate anchors (not always included).
  3. Mark Drill Holes: Hold the wall plate against the wall at the desired height and use a pencil to mark the pilot hole locations. Use a level to ensure the marks are perfectly horizontal.
  4. Drill Pilot Holes: Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. The drill bit size will be specified in the hardware kit instructions, typically matching the lag bolt diameter.

Step 2: Attach Wall Plate to Wall

  1. Align the wall plate with the drilled pilot holes.
  2. Insert the lag bolts through the wall plate and into the pilot holes.
  3. Tighten the lag bolts firmly using a socket wrench until the wall plate is securely fastened to the wall. Do not overtighten.

Step 3: Attach TV Brackets to TV

  1. Lay your TV face down on a soft, clean surface to prevent screen damage.
  2. Identify the VESA mounting holes on the back of your TV.
  3. Select the appropriate screws, washers, and spacers from the hardware kit that fit your TV's mounting holes. Refer to your TV's manual for VESA specifications.
  4. Attach the TV bracket arms to the back of your TV, ensuring they are centered and securely fastened. The hooks on the bracket arms should face upwards.

Step 4: Hang TV on Wall Mount

  1. With assistance, carefully lift the TV and align the hooks on the TV bracket arms with the top edge of the wall plate.
  2. Gently lower the TV until the bracket arms securely engage with the wall plate.
  3. Locate and tighten any safety screws or locking mechanisms on the TV bracket arms to prevent accidental dislodging.

Operating Instructions

Your Insignia Full Motion TV Wall Mount allows for various adjustments to achieve optimal viewing angles.

  • Extension: Gently pull the TV away from the wall to extend the arm.
  • Swivel: Carefully pivot the TV left or right to adjust the horizontal viewing angle.
  • Tilt: Loosen the tilt adjustment knobs (if applicable, refer to specific mount design) on the TV bracket, adjust the TV to the desired vertical angle, and then re-tighten the knobs to secure.
  • Leveling: Some mounts allow for minor post-installation leveling adjustments. Consult the specific design of your mount for this feature.

Always move the TV smoothly and avoid sudden, forceful movements. Ensure all connections remain secure after adjustment.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and safe operation of your TV wall mount.

  • Periodic Checks: Every few months, inspect all mounting hardware and connections to ensure they are secure. Re-tighten any loose screws or bolts.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the mount with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the finish.
  • Lubrication: The articulating joints are typically pre-lubricated. If movement becomes stiff over time, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to the pivot points, avoiding contact with electrical components.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your TV wall mount, refer to the following common solutions:

  • Mount feels loose: Check all lag bolts securing the wall plate to the wall and all screws attaching the TV brackets to the TV. Re-tighten as necessary. If the wall structure is compromised, consult a professional.
  • TV is not level: Ensure the wall plate was installed level. If your mount has a post-installation leveling feature, adjust it. Otherwise, the TV may need to be removed and the wall plate re-installed.
  • Difficulty moving the TV: Check for any obstructions. If joints are stiff, apply a small amount of silicone lubricant to the pivot points. Do not force movement.
  • Missing parts: Do not proceed with installation. Contact Insignia customer support for replacement parts.
