Setup

Charging the Toothbrush

Before first use, fully charge your Philips Sonicare toothbrush. Place the handle on the charging dock. The battery indicator lights will illuminate to show charging progress. A full charge provides approximately 14 days of battery life based on typical usage (two 2-minute brushing sessions per day).

Attaching the Brush Head

Operating Instructions

Brushing Modes and Intensity Settings

The Flexcare Platinum offers three brushing modes: Clean, White, and Gum Care. It also features three adjustable intensity levels for a customized brushing experience.

To select a mode, press the mode selection button (lower button) after turning on the toothbrush. To adjust intensity, press the power button (upper button) repeatedly to cycle through the three levels.

Smartimer and Quadpacer

Your Sonicare toothbrush is equipped with a Smartimer that automatically turns off the toothbrush after the recommended 2-minute brushing cycle (or 3 minutes for Gum Care mode). The Quadpacer feature beeps at 30-second intervals (or 45-second intervals for Gum Care mode) to indicate when to move to the next quadrant of your mouth, ensuring thorough cleaning.

Pressure Sensor

The advanced pressure sensor alerts you when you are brushing too hard. If excessive pressure is applied, the toothbrush will emit a different sound or vibration pattern, prompting you to reduce pressure to protect your teeth and gums.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Toothbrush

After each use, rinse the brush head and handle thoroughly under running water. It is important to remove any toothpaste residue from the brush head and the area around the metal shaft on the handle. While the toothbrush is waterproof, avoid submerging the handle in water for extended periods. Regularly clean the rubber seal around the metal shaft to prevent toothpaste buildup, which can affect performance and longevity.

Brush Head Replacement

For optimal performance and hygiene, replace your Philips Sonicare brush head every three months, or sooner if the bristles appear worn. The toothbrush features a brush head replacement reminder that will illuminate when it's time for a new brush head.

Troubleshooting

Loud Noise During Operation

If your Philips Sonicare toothbrush makes a loud noise when turned on, ensure the brush head is correctly and firmly attached to the handle. Remove the brush head and reattach it, ensuring it clicks securely into place. Also, check for any debris or toothpaste buildup around the metal shaft and inside the brush head connection point, and clean as necessary.

Reduced Battery Life

If the battery life seems shorter than the advertised 14 days, ensure the toothbrush is fully charged before each use. Over time, battery performance may naturally decrease. If the issue persists, contact Philips Customer Care.
