This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient installation, operation, and maintenance of your V-TAC VT-1277 Nano-Plastic LED Tube. Please read these instructions carefully before installation and retain them for future reference.

The V-TAC VT-1277 is an 18W T8 LED tube with a G13 fitting, measuring 120 cm in length. It features a frosted plastic cover and delivers a luminous flux of up to 1700 lumens. Constructed from nano-plastic, this tube is lightweight and designed to optimize light output while maintaining its conductive properties. It offers an efficiency of up to 94 lumens per watt and provides instant brightness without a warm-up period.

5. Installation

Important: Always ensure the power supply to the fixture is disconnected before beginning installation. Identify the power input side of the LED tube, which is marked with a special marker on the terminal. The short-circuit side is marked with "DO NOT connect".

5.1. Installation in LED-Ready Fixtures (Direct Mains Connection)

  1. Ensure the fixture is designed for direct mains connection LED tubes.
  2. Insert the LED tube into the G13 lampholders, ensuring the power input side aligns with the live connection and the "DO NOT connect" side aligns with the neutral connection.
  3. Restore power and test the LED tube.

5.2. Replacement in Fluorescent Fixtures with Electromechanical Ballast (Magnetic Ballast)

This method requires replacing the existing starter with the LED starter provided.

  1. Disconnect power to the fixture at the main circuit breaker.
  2. Remove the existing fluorescent tube from the fixture.
  3. Remove the existing starter from the fixture.
  4. Insert the provided LED starter into the starter socket.
  5. Insert the V-TAC VT-1277 LED tube into the G13 lampholders. Ensure the power input side is correctly oriented according to the fixture's wiring.
  6. Restore power and test the LED tube.

5.3. Replacement in Fluorescent Fixtures with Electronic Ballast

Warning: This type of installation requires modification of the fixture's internal wiring to bypass the electronic ballast. This procedure should only be performed by a qualified electrician to ensure safety and proper functionality.

  1. Disconnect power to the fixture at the main circuit breaker.
  2. Remove the existing fluorescent tube and electronic ballast.
  3. Rewire the fixture to provide direct mains voltage (240V) to the G13 lampholders. Ensure that the live wire connects to the power input side of the LED tube and the neutral wire connects to the other side (marked "DO NOT connect").
  4. Insert the V-TAC VT-1277 LED tube into the G13 lampholders.
  5. Restore power and test the LED tube.

6. Operation

Once correctly installed and powered, the V-TAC VT-1277 LED tube will illuminate instantly when the fixture's power switch is turned on. There is no warm-up period required.
