5. Troubleshooting Guide

If the remote control does not function as expected, please follow these steps:

  1. Check Batteries: Ensure batteries are inserted correctly with the proper polarity. Replace old batteries with new AAA batteries to rule out low power issues.
  2. Clear Remote's Residual Power: Remove the batteries from the remote. Press each button on the remote control for approximately 3 seconds to discharge any residual power and check for any buttons that might be stuck.
  3. TV Power Cycle: Unplug your Toshiba TV from the electrical outlet. Wait for at least 15 seconds. Then, press and hold the TV's physical power button (located on the TV itself, not the remote) for 5 seconds to clear any residual power from the TV. Plug the TV back into the outlet and turn it on.
  4. Line of Sight: Verify that there are no physical obstructions (e.g., furniture, plants) between the remote control and the TV's infrared sensor. The remote requires a clear line of sight to transmit signals effectively.
  5. Test Functionality: After performing the above steps, test the remote control again to see if the issue is resolved.
