Setup Guide

1. Speaker Placement

  • Subwoofer: Place the powered subwoofer on the floor, preferably near the main listening area.
  • Front Satellite Speakers: Position the two front satellite speakers to the left and right of your display, facing the listening area.
  • Center Satellite Speaker: Place the center satellite speaker directly above or below your display.
  • Rear Satellite Speakers: Position the two rear satellite speakers behind the main listening area, to the left and right.

2. Connecting Satellite Speakers

Connect each satellite speaker to the corresponding RCA output on the back of the powered subwoofer. The front and center speakers have 6-foot cables, while the rear speakers have 12-foot cables. Use the included 25-foot extension cables if additional length is required for optimal placement of the rear speakers.

Ensure the subwoofer's power switch is in the OFF position. Connect the power cord from the subwoofer to a standard US 110V grounded wall outlet.

4. Connecting Audio Sources

The AA5170 system offers multiple ways to connect your audio devices:

  • Standard RCA Inputs: Use the provided RCA cables to connect devices with stereo RCA audio outputs (e.g., DVD players, gaming consoles). The system has 6 independent RCA inputs for true surround sound.
  • Optical Input (via AADAC Converter): For devices with a digital optical audio output (e.g., Smart TVs), connect the included AADAC Digital to Analog Converter. Connect the optical cable from your device to the AADAC, then use RCA cables from the AADAC to the speaker system's RCA inputs.
  • 3.5mm AUX Input: Use the 3.5mm to RCA cable to connect devices with a standard 3.5mm headphone jack (e.g., smartphones, laptops).
  • USB Drive Input: Insert a USB flash drive containing MP3 audio files into the USB port on the front panel.
  • SD Card Input: Insert an SD card containing MP3 audio files into the SD card slot on the front panel.
