Setup Guide

Follow these steps to set up your KYOCERA ECOSYS M2540dw printer for the first time.

1. Unpacking and Placement

  • Load the paper stack into the tray, ensuring it is not overfilled.
  • Gently push the paper tray back into the printer.
  • Confirm the paper size and type on the LCD panel if prompted.

4. Power Connection

  • Connect the power cord to the printer and then to a grounded electrical outlet.
  • Press the power button on the printer. The printer will begin its initialization sequence.

5. Network and Driver Installation

  • Wired Network (Ethernet): Connect an Ethernet cable from the printer to your network router or switch.
  • Wireless Network (Wi-Fi): On the printer's LCD panel, navigate to the network settings and select your Wi-Fi network. Enter the password if required.

Operating Instructions

Printing

  • From a Computer: Select "Print" from your application, choose the KYOCERA ECOSYS M2540dw, and adjust settings as needed (e.g., paper size, duplex printing).

  • Place your original document in the Dual Scan Document Processor or on the scanner glass.
  • On the control panel, press the Scan button.
  • Select your desired scan destination:
    • Scan to Folder (SMB): To set this up, access the printer's web interface by typing its LAN IP address into a web browser. Configure a shared folder on your computer and add its details (computer name, username, password, folder name) in the printer's address book.
    • Scan to Email: Configure email settings via the printer's web interface.
    • Scan to FTP: Set up FTP server details in the printer's settings.
    • Scan to USB: Insert a USB flash drive into the USB port on the printer.
    • TWAIN/WIA: Use compatible scanning software on your computer.
  • Adjust scan settings such as resolution (up to Fine 1200 dpi) and file type (TIFF, PDF, XPS, JPEG, PDF/A-1).
  • Press the Start button to begin scanning.

Faxing

  • Connect a telephone line to the printer's fax port.
  • Place your document in the document processor.
  • On the control panel, press the Fax button.
  • Enter the recipient's fax number.
  • Adjust any necessary settings, such as duplex transmission/reception or density.
  • Press the Start button to send the fax.
  • The modem speed is 33.6 Kbps. Note that G3 Fax functions may not be compatible with all VoIP systems.
