1. Introduction

The BenQ PD3200U is a 32-inch 4K UHD (3840x2160) IPS monitor designed for creative professionals. It features AQCOLOR technology, ensuring absolute color precision with 100% sRGB/Rec.709 color space coverage and Delta E ≤ 3 accuracy. This monitor is factory-calibrated and Pantone Validated, providing reliable color performance for various design applications. Key features include a Hotkey Puck for quick mode switching, DualView for side-by-side comparisons, and specialized display modes such as CAD/CAM, Animation, and Darkroom. The ergonomic design allows for height, tilt, and swivel adjustments, and it includes BenQ's proprietary eye care technology for user wellness. The PD3200U is built to support every stage of a professional workflow.

2. Setup

2.1 Package Contents

Before beginning assembly, please verify that all items listed below are included in your package:

2.2 Monitor Assembly

Carefully remove the monitor and its components from the packaging. Attach the stand base to the stand pillar, then secure the assembled stand to the back of the monitor panel. Ensure all connections are firm. The monitor also supports VESA wall-mount options (100x100mm) for alternative mounting solutions.

2.3 Connecting to Your Computer

The BenQ PD3200U offers multiple connectivity options. Connect your computer to the monitor using one of the provided cables:

• DisplayPort (DP) to mini DisplayPort (mDP) 1.2: For 4K resolution at 60Hz.
• HDMI 2.0: For 4K resolution at 60Hz.
• USB 3.0: Connect the USB upstream cable from your computer to the monitor to enable the integrated USB hub and KVM switch functionality.

Ensure the power cable is securely connected to the monitor and a power outlet.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Power On/Off

Press the power button located on the bottom right bezel of the monitor to turn it on or off. The power indicator light will illuminate when the monitor is active.

3.2 Ergonomic Adjustments

The PD3200U features a highly adjustable stand for optimal viewing comfort:

• Height Adjustment: Raise or lower the monitor to eye level.
• Tilt: Adjust the screen angle vertically to reduce glare.
• Swivel: Rotate the monitor horizontally to share your screen or adjust your viewing position.
• Pivot (Rotation): Rotate the screen 90 degrees for vertical viewing, ideal for coding or document review.

3.3 AQCOLOR Technology and Color Modes

The PD3200U incorporates BenQ's AQCOLOR technology for precise color reproduction. It supports 100% sRGB and Rec.709 color spaces, ensuring accurate and consistent colors for various applications.

Specialized Designer Modes:

• Darkroom Mode: Adjusts image brightness and contrast for clarity and sharpness in dark environments, ideal for post-processing.
• CAD/CAM Mode: Enhances the finest details in technical illustrations, making lines and shapes stand out for design software.
• Animation Mode: Increases the brightness of dark areas without overexposing bright regions, crucial for designers working with intricate details in animations.
• DualView: Allows users to view content in two specialized Designer Modes side-by-side without needing two separate screens.

3.4 Hotkey Puck

The included Hotkey Puck provides quick access to frequently used settings and modes. You can customize its three function buttons to switch between display modes (e.g., sRGB, CAD/CAM, Darkroom), adjust brightness, or control contrast, enhancing workflow efficiency.

3.5 Keyboard Video Mouse (KVM) Switch

The integrated KVM switch allows you to control two different computer systems using a single keyboard, mouse, and the PD3200U monitor. Connect both systems to the monitor's video inputs and the USB upstream ports. This feature is ideal for users who switch between multiple workstations.

3.6 Daisy Chain Functionality

Extend your notebook's screen across several displays using the DisplayPort output for a multiple monitor setup. This allows for an expanded workspace and improved multitasking.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning the Monitor

• Always power off the monitor and unplug the power cord before cleaning.
• Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly dampened with water or a mild, non-abrasive screen cleaner.
• Do not spray cleaner directly onto the screen.
• Avoid using harsh chemicals, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the screen and casing.

4.2 General Care

• Keep the monitor away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, or humidity.
• Ensure proper ventilation around the monitor to prevent overheating.
• Avoid placing heavy objects on the monitor or its cables.
• Handle the monitor with care to prevent physical damage.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 No Image on Screen

• Check if the power cable is securely connected to the monitor and the power outlet.
• Ensure the video cable (DisplayPort or HDMI) is firmly connected to both the monitor and your computer.
• Verify that your computer is powered on and not in sleep mode.
• Try selecting the correct input source on the monitor using the OSD (On-Screen Display) menu.

5.2 Flickering Screen

• Ensure your video cable is properly connected and not damaged. Try a different cable if possible.
• Update your graphics card drivers to the latest version.
• Check the monitor's refresh rate settings in your computer's display settings. Ensure it is set to the recommended value (e.g., 60Hz for 4K UHD).
• If using a KVM switch, ensure all connections are stable and the switch is functioning correctly.
