Setup Instructions

1. Prepare the Stand Mixer: Ensure your KitchenAid Stand Mixer is unplugged. Remove the attachment hub cover on the front of the mixer head.
2. Attach the Housing: Insert the attachment shaft of the Slicer/Shredder Housing into the attachment hub of the stand mixer. Rotate the attachment back and forth if necessary until it fits securely into the square drive shaft.
3. Secure the Attachment: Tighten the attachment hub knob clockwise until the attachment is firmly attached to the stand mixer.
4. Insert the Blade: Select the desired blade (slicing, medium shredding, or coarse shredding). Insert the blade into the housing, ensuring it is seated correctly.
5. Place the Food Pusher: Insert the 2-in-1 Food Pusher into the feed tube of the housing.

Operating Instructions

1. Prepare Ingredients: Cut ingredients into pieces that fit comfortably into the feed tube. For best results, ensure ingredients are firm.
2. Position Bowl: Place a bowl or container directly under the discharge opening to collect sliced or shredded ingredients.
3. Start Mixer: Plug in the stand mixer. Turn the stand mixer to speed 4 for optimal performance.
4. Feed Ingredients: Place ingredients into the feed tube. Use the 2-in-1 Food Pusher to gently guide the ingredients towards the rotating blade. Do not force ingredients through.
5. Continue Processing: Continue feeding ingredients until all are processed.
6. Turn Off Mixer: Once finished, turn off the stand mixer and unplug it before removing the attachment.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Proper cleaning ensures the longevity and hygiene of your attachment.

• Disassembly: Unplug the stand mixer. Remove the attachment from the hub. Disassemble the housing, blade, and food pusher.
• Blade Cleaning: All blades are dishwasher safe and can be placed on the top rack for easy cleaning. For stubborn residue, hand wash with warm, soapy water and a brush.
• Housing and Pusher Cleaning: The slicer/shredder housing and food pusher can also be washed in the dishwasher (top rack) or hand washed with warm, soapy water.
• Drying and Storage: Ensure all parts are completely dry before reassembling or storing them in the provided storage case.

Troubleshooting

• Attachment not fitting: Ensure the attachment hub cover is fully removed and the attachment shaft is aligned with the square drive shaft. The hub knob must be loosened before insertion.
• Ingredients not processing: Verify the stand mixer is set to the correct speed (Speed 4). Ensure the blade is correctly inserted and not obstructed. Do not overfill the feed tube or force ingredients.
• Difficulty removing blade: If cheese or other ingredients clog the blade, carefully remove excess food before attempting to extract the blade.
