4. Setup
4.1 Unpacking
Carefully remove the subwoofer from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage that may have occurred during shipping. If damage is found, contact your dealer immediately.
4.2 Placement
Position the subwoofer on a stable, level surface. For optimal bass response, consider placing the subwoofer on the floor, ideally in a corner or against a wall to utilize room acoustics. The integrated heavy-duty wheels facilitate easy movement.

4.3 Power Connection
Connect the supplied AC power cord to the subwoofer's power inlet and then to a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the voltage selector switch (if present) is set correctly for your region before connecting power.
4.4 Audio Connections
Connect your audio source (e.g., mixer, audio interface) to the subwoofer's input jacks. Use balanced XLR or 1/4-inch TRS cables for optimal signal integrity. The subwoofer features two XLR/TRS combo inputs.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
Ensure all connections are secure before powering on. Turn on your mixer or audio source first, then power on the subwoofer using the rear panel power switch. When powering off, turn off the subwoofer first, then your audio source.
5.2 Level Adjustment
Use the LEVEL control on the rear panel to adjust the subwoofer's output volume. Start with the level control at its minimum setting and gradually increase it to achieve the desired bass balance with your main speakers.
5.3 Crossover Settings
The subwoofer features a built-in 90 Hz switchable crossover. This allows you to send frequencies below 90 Hz to the subwoofer and frequencies above 90 Hz to your main speakers via the high-pass XLR outputs. Adjust this setting based on the frequency response of your main speakers for optimal system integration.
5.4 Phase Switch
The PHASE switch (0°/180°) helps optimize the phase relationship between the subwoofer and your main speakers. If the bass sounds weak or hollow, try flipping the phase switch. The correct setting will result in a fuller, more impactful bass response.
5.5 Optical Limiter and Clip Indicator
The integrated optical limiter protects the subwoofer from potentially damaging transient peaks while preserving audio detail. The front-facing LED clip indicator illuminates when the signal is too high, indicating that the limiter is active or clipping is occurring. If the clip LED frequently illuminates, reduce the input level to prevent distortion and potential damage.
6. Connections
The rear panel of the V2218S offers versatile connectivity options:
- INPUTS (XLR/TRS Combo): Two balanced XLR/TRS 1/4-inch combo jacks for connecting audio sources.
- LINK OUT (XLR): Provides a full-range signal pass-through for connecting to additional subwoofers or other audio equipment.
- HIGH-PASS OUT (XLR): Provides a signal with frequencies below 90 Hz filtered out, ideal for connecting to full-range speakers.
- AC IN: Standard IEC power inlet for connecting the AC power cord.

7. Controls and Indicators
Familiarize yourself with the controls and indicators on your V2218S subwoofer:
- LEVEL Knob: Adjusts the overall output volume of the subwoofer.
- CROSSOVER Switch: Selects the crossover frequency (90 Hz) for the high-pass outputs.
- PHASE Switch (0°/180°): Inverts the phase of the subwoofer's output.
- POWER Switch: Turns the subwoofer's power on or off.
- POWER LED (Front): Illuminates blue when the unit is powered on.
- CLIP LED (Front): Illuminates when the input signal is too high, indicating clipping or limiter activation. This LED can be defeated (turned off) via a switch on the rear panel.
