1. Safety Information

3. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Inspect for any damage during transit.
  2. Placement: Place the rework station on a stable, heat-resistant, and non-flammable surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
  3. Connect Hot Air Gun: Connect the hot air gun cable securely to the designated port on the main unit.
  4. Attach Handle Stand: Secure the handle stand to the side of the main unit. This stand is crucial for safely resting the hot air gun when not in active use, activating its auto-sleep function.

  5. Select Nozzle: Choose the appropriate nozzle size (5mm, 8mm, or 10mm) for your application and attach it firmly to the hot air gun.

  6. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded 110V AC outlet.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Powering On/Off

  1. To Power On: Flip the "POWER" switch on the front panel to the "ON" position. The LED display will illuminate, showing the current temperature.
  2. To Power Off: Flip the "POWER" switch to the "OFF" position. The unit will begin to cool down.

4.2 Adjusting Temperature

The CREWORKS 858D Rework Station offers a precise temperature adjustment range from 212°F to 842°F (100°C to 450°C).

  • Use the red ▲ (Up) and ▼ (Down) buttons on the control panel to increase or decrease the desired temperature.
  • The LED display will show the set temperature. The unit will rapidly heat up to the set point.

4.3 Adjusting Airflow

The airflow intensity can be adjusted to suit different applications.

  • Rotate the "AIR" knob on the control panel to adjust the airflow intensity from 1 (low) to 8 (high).
  • Higher settings provide stronger airflow, suitable for larger components or faster heat transfer.

4.4 Auto Sleep Function

The rework station is equipped with an auto-sleep function for safety and energy efficiency.

  • When the hot air gun is placed back into its handle stand, the unit will automatically reduce the temperature and airflow to a standby mode.
  • When the hot air gun is lifted from the stand, it will quickly return to the previously set temperature and airflow.

4.5 General Usage Tips

  • Always preheat the area around the component you are working on to prevent thermal shock.
  • Maintain a safe distance between the nozzle and the component to avoid overheating or damaging the board.
  • Use appropriate tweezers or tools to handle components once the solder has melted.
