5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover, typically on the side or back of the unit.
- Open the cover by sliding or unlatching it.
- Insert three (3) AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5.2 Mounting the Laser Level

- Integrated Magnetic Bracket: Attach the laser level directly to metal surfaces such as steel studs or magnetic boards using the built-in magnetic bracket.
- Tripod Mount: For precise height adjustments and stable positioning, screw the laser level onto a standard tripod (with a 1/4-inch - 20 thread) using the mounting thread located on the bottom of the unit.
- Flat Surface: The unit can also be placed directly on a stable, flat surface.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Powering On/Off
To turn the laser level ON, slide the power switch to the ON position. To turn the laser level OFF, slide the power switch to the OFF position.
6.2 Operating Modes
The DW088CG typically offers multiple projection modes:
- Cross Line Mode: Projects both horizontal and vertical laser lines simultaneously. This is the default mode when powered on.
- Horizontal Line Mode: Projects only the horizontal laser line. Press the mode selection button (often labeled with a horizontal line icon) to cycle to this mode.
- Vertical Line Mode: Projects only the vertical laser line. Press the mode selection button again to cycle to this mode.

To activate pulse mode, press the pulse mode button (often indicated by a receiver icon). The laser line may appear dimmer to the eye in this mode, but it will be detectable by the receiver.
