4. Setup

The HmIP-FSM16 requires a Homematic IP Access Point in combination with the free app (free cloud service), the Smart Home Central CCU3, or a partner solution for operation.

4.1 Installation by a Qualified Electrician

As previously stated, the installation of this device must be carried out by a qualified electrician. The device is designed for flush-mount installation.

4.2 Wiring

The device requires a neutral conductor for proper operation. Follow the wiring diagram provided by your qualified electrician or in the detailed user manual available on the Homematic IP website.

Once physically installed, pair the HmIP-FSM16 with your Homematic IP Access Point or CCU3 using the Homematic IP app. Follow the on-screen instructions in the app for the pairing process.

5. Operating

The HmIP-FSM16 allows for convenient control of connected devices and monitoring of their energy consumption.

5.1 Control via Homematic IP App

Use the Homematic IP app on your smartphone or tablet to switch connected loads on or off, create schedules, and view energy consumption data.

5.3 Energy Consumption Measurement

The device continuously measures the power consumption of the connected load. This data is accessible through the Homematic IP app, allowing you to monitor and optimize energy usage.

6. Maintenance

The Homematic IP HmIP-FSM16 Switch Actuator is designed for maintenance-free operation. No user-serviceable parts are inside the device.
