4. Operating Instructions
The Gourmia Electric Meat Grinder features a 3-way ON/OFF/Reverse switch for easy operation.
Meat Preparation:
- Cut meat into small strips or cubes (approx. 1-inch pieces) that fit easily into the feed tube.
- Remove any bones, gristle, or excessive fat.
- For best results, chill the meat and the metal grinding components (grinding head, blade, plates) in the freezer for 30-60 minutes before grinding. This helps prevent smearing and ensures a cleaner grind.
Grinding Meat:
- Ensure the appliance is correctly assembled with the desired grinding plate.
- Place a bowl or container under the grinding head to collect the ground meat.
- Plug the appliance into a power outlet.
- Turn the ON/OFF/Reverse switch to the 'ON' position.
- Place prepared meat onto the food tray and feed it into the grinding head using the food pusher. Do not force the meat.
- Once all meat is ground, turn the switch to 'OFF' and unplug the appliance.
Using the Reverse Function:
If the grinding head becomes jammed or clogged, turn the switch to the 'R' (Reverse) position. This will reverse the motor to clear the obstruction. Once cleared, switch back to 'OFF' and then 'ON' to resume grinding.
Sausage Making:
- Assemble the grinding head with the sausage stuffer horn.
- Prepare your sausage mixture and casings.
- Follow steps 2-6 from 'Grinding Meat' to feed the sausage mixture through the stuffer horn into the casings.
Kibbeh Making:
- Assemble the grinding head with the kibbeh attachment.
- Prepare your kibbeh dough mixture.
- Follow steps 2-6 from 'Grinding Meat' to feed the mixture through the kibbeh attachment to form the desired shape.

Applying a thin layer of cooking oil after drying can help protect them.
- Plastic Parts (Food Pusher, Sausage Stuffer Horn, Kibbeh Attachment): These parts are dishwasher safe (top rack recommended) or can be hand-washed with warm, soapy water.
- Motor Unit: Wipe the exterior of the motor unit with a damp cloth. Never immerse the motor unit in water or any other liquid.
Storage:
Ensure all parts are clean and completely dry before storing. Store the meat grinder and its accessories in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and moisture.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your Gourmia Electric Meat Grinder, please refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- Appliance does not turn on: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working outlet. Check that the ON/OFF/Reverse switch is in the 'ON' position.
- Meat is not grinding or grinder is jammed: Turn the appliance OFF immediately. Use the 'R' (Reverse) function to clear any blockages. If the issue persists, disassemble the grinding head and remove any obstructions. Ensure meat is cut into appropriate sizes and free of bones or gristle.
- Motor stops during operation: The appliance has a built-in intelligent chip with an auto-shutoff feature to prevent overheating. If the motor stops, turn the appliance OFF and unplug it. Allow it to cool down for at least 30 minutes before resuming operation.
- Meat is smeared or not grinding cleanly: Ensure the meat and metal grinding components are well-chilled before grinding. Check that the cutting blade is installed with the sharp side facing outwards and that the grinding plate is correctly aligned.
