Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the digital protractor from its protective plastic pouch.
  2. Battery Installation: The device comes with a pre-installed battery. An extra battery is provided for future replacement. To replace the battery, locate the battery compartment on the digital display unit, open it, insert the new battery with the correct polarity, and close the compartment securely.
  3. Initial Power On: Press the "ON/OFF" button to power on the device. The digital display should illuminate and show a reading.

Operating Instructions

Basic Angle Measurement

  1. Power On: Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the protractor.
  2. Zeroing the Display: To set the current position as the zero reference, press the ZERO button. This is useful for measuring relative angles.
  3. Positioning the Arms: Place the protractor's arms against the surfaces of the angle you wish to measure. Ensure both arms are flush with the surfaces for an accurate reading.
  4. Reading the Angle: The angle will be displayed instantly on the large LCD screen in 0.05-degree increments.

Using the Hold Function

  • After obtaining a measurement, press the HOLD/Rev. button once to freeze the reading on the display. The "HOLD" indicator will appear.
  • To release the hold and resume live measurement, press the HOLD/Rev. button again.

Reverse Reading Capability

  • The HOLD/Rev. button also functions as a reverse reading toggle. Press and hold this button to invert the display reading, which can be useful when the protractor is in an inverted position.

Linear Measurement

  • The stainless steel arms are graduated with both inch and metric scales, allowing for direct linear measurements up to 10 inches or 25 cm.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the protractor with a soft, dry cloth after each use to remove dust and debris. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the protractor in its protective plastic pouch when not in use to prevent scratches and damage. Keep it in a dry environment.
  • Battery Replacement: If the display becomes dim or unresponsive, replace the battery. Refer to the "Setup" section for battery replacement instructions.
