5. Setup
5.1 Installing SIM Card(s) and Battery
- Remove the back cover of the phone by gently prying it open from the notch.
- If present, remove the battery.
- Insert your SIM card(s) into the designated SIM slots. The BLU JOY supports dual SIM cards. Ensure the gold contacts face downwards.
- Insert the battery, aligning the gold contacts with the phone's terminals.
- Replace the back cover, pressing firmly until it clicks into place.
5.2 Charging the Device
Before first use, fully charge the battery.
- Connect the charger to the charging port on the phone.
- Plug the charger into a power outlet.
- The battery indicator on the screen will show charging status.
- Once fully charged, disconnect the charger.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Powering On/Off
- To Power On: Press and hold the Power/End Call button until the screen lights up.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the Power/End Call button until the power options appear, then select "Power Off".
6.2 Making and Receiving Calls
- Making a Call: Enter the phone number using the keypad and press the Call button (green button).
- Receiving a Call: When the phone rings, press the Call button (green button) to answer.
- Ending a Call: Press the Power/End Call button (red button) to end a call.

6.3 Sending and Receiving Messages
- Navigate to the "Messages" menu.
- Select "Write Message" to compose a new SMS.
- Enter the recipient's number and your message.
- Press "Send" to dispatch the message.
- Received messages will appear in the "Inbox".
6.4 Using the SOS Button
The BLU JOY features a dedicated SOS emergency button for quick access to pre-set emergency contacts.
- Setting Up SOS Contacts: Access the SOS settings in the phone's menu to add up to 5 emergency contact numbers.
- Activating SOS: In an emergency, press and hold the red SOS button on the back of the phone for a few seconds.
- The phone will automatically dial the pre-set emergency numbers sequentially until one is answered. It will also send an emergency SMS message to these contacts.
6.5 Using the Flashlight
The BLU JOY includes a built-in flashlight for convenience.
- To turn on the flashlight, locate the dedicated flashlight button or shortcut (refer to your quick guide for exact location).
- Press the button once to turn it on, and again to turn it off.
