Package Contents
Before beginning assembly, verify that all components are present and undamaged. While extra hardware is often provided, ensure no critical parts are missing. If any parts are missing or damaged, contact Lorell customer support.
Assembly Instructions
Assembly typically requires two individuals due to the need for aligning screw holes and applying moderate force. A ratchet screwdriver with an Allen wrench bit may facilitate the process compared to the provided Allen wrench.
- Attach Casters to Base: Insert the dual-wheel casters into the openings at the ends of the five-star base. Press firmly until they click into place.
- Insert Gas Lift: Place the gas lift cylinder into the center hole of the five-star base.
- Attach Mechanism to Seat: Secure the seat plate mechanism to the underside of the seat cushion using the provided screws. Ensure the levers are positioned correctly for access.
- Connect Backrest to Armrests: Attach the backrest to the armrests. This step may require careful alignment of screw holes. Do not fully tighten screws until all connections are made.
- Attach Armrests to Seat: Connect the armrests (with the attached backrest) to the seat cushion assembly. Aligning these screw holes can be challenging; gentle tugging and pulling may be necessary to achieve proper alignment. Once all screws are in place, tighten them securely. Avoid over-tightening, as this can damage the plastic components.
- Place Assembled Top onto Gas Lift: Carefully place the assembled seat and backrest onto the gas lift cylinder. The chair should settle securely onto the cylinder.

Operating Instructions
Your Lorell LLR99846 Task Chair offers several adjustments to customize your seating experience:
- Seat Height Adjustment: Locate the lever on the right side beneath the seat. To raise the seat, lift the lever while taking your weight off the seat. To lower the seat, lift the lever while seated. The seat height can be adjusted between approximately 18 to 22 inches from the floor.
- Tilt Tension Adjustment: The knob located at the front underside of the seat controls the resistance of the chair's tilt. Turn the knob clockwise to increase tilt tension (making it harder to recline) and counter-clockwise to decrease tension (making it easier to recline). Note that the range of noticeable difference in tension may vary.
- Tilt Lock: A separate lever, typically near the tilt tension knob, allows you to lock the chair's backrest in an upright position or unlock it for reclining.
- 360-Degree Swivel: The chair is designed to swivel freely in a full 360-degree rotation.
- Armrests: The armrests are fixed in height and position. While they provide support, their height may be low for some users.

Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: For the mesh back and fabric seat, use a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
- Casters: Periodically check casters for hair or debris that may impede smooth rolling. Clean as needed.
- Hardware: Occasionally check all screws and bolts to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten if necessary to maintain stability.
- General Use: Avoid standing on the chair or using it for purposes other than its intended design to prevent damage.
Troubleshooting
- Difficulty during Assembly: If screw holes do not align easily, ensure all components are correctly oriented. Loosely attach all screws before fully tightening any. Applying gentle pressure or slight adjustments to the components may help align holes.
- Armrests feel loose or unstable: Re-check the tightness of all screws connecting the armrests to the backrest and seat. Ensure screws are tightened sufficiently without stripping the plastic.
- Tilt adjustment not effective: The tilt tension knob may require significant turning to notice a difference. If the tilt mechanism does not respond, ensure the tilt lock lever is disengaged.
- Chair does not hold height: If the chair slowly sinks after adjustment, the gas lift cylinder may be failing. This typically requires replacement of the gas lift.
