2. Safety Precautions

Operating a drone requires responsibility. Adhere to the following safety guidelines:

4. Component Identification

4.1 Quadcopter Components

5. Setup

5.1 Propeller Installation

  1. Identify propellers marked 'A' and 'B'.
  2. Match 'A' propellers to 'A' motor shafts and 'B' propellers to 'B' motor shafts. Ensure correct orientation.
  3. Secure each propeller with the provided screws using the screwdriver.

5.2 Battery Installation and Charging

  1. Drone Battery: Insert the fully charged drone battery into the battery compartment on the underside of the quadcopter until it clicks into place.
  2. Remote Control Batteries: Open the battery cover on the back of the remote control. Insert 4x AA batteries (not included) according to the polarity markings. Close the cover.
  3. Charging: Connect the drone battery to the USB charging cable, then plug the USB end into a USB power adapter (5V/1A recommended). The indicator light on the charger will show charging status (e.g., red for charging, green for fully charged). Charging typically takes 60-90 minutes.

5.3 FPV App Installation

For live video streaming and advanced features, download the Potensic FPV app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On and Pairing

  1. Place the drone on a flat, level surface.
  2. Press the power button on the drone. The LED lights will flash.
  3. Turn on the remote control. The indicator light on the remote will flash.
  4. Push the left joystick (throttle) all the way up, then all the way down. The drone's LED lights will become solid, indicating successful pairing.

6.2 Gyro Calibration

After pairing, perform gyro calibration for stable flight:

  • With the drone on a flat surface, push both joysticks down and to the right simultaneously.
  • The drone's LED lights will flash rapidly and then become solid, indicating successful calibration.

6.3 Takeoff and Landing

  • One-Key Takeoff: Press the one-key takeoff/landing button. The drone will automatically ascend to a stable altitude.
  • Manual Takeoff: Push both joysticks down and to the left simultaneously to start the propellers. Slowly push the left joystick (throttle) up to ascend.
  • One-Key Landing: Press the one-key takeoff/landing button. The drone will automatically descend and land.
  • Manual Landing: Slowly pull the left joystick (throttle) down until the drone lands. Once landed, pull both joysticks down and to the left to stop the propellers.

6.4 Flight Controls

  • Left Joystick (Throttle): Up/Down for altitude, Left/Right for yaw (rotation).
  • Right Joystick (Direction): Up/Down for pitch (forward/backward), Left/Right for roll (sideways).

6.5 Altitude Hold Function

The F181WH features an air pressure altitude hold system, allowing the drone to maintain a stable flight height automatically. This simplifies control, especially for beginners, and provides a steady platform for FPV and photography.

6.6 Stepless-Speed Function

Press the speed switch button on the remote control to cycle through different flight speeds. This allows you to adjust the drone's responsiveness and speed according to your skill level and flying environment.

6.7 Camera and FPV Operation

  1. Connect to App: Turn on the drone, then go to your smartphone's Wi-Fi settings and connect to the drone's Wi-Fi network (e.g., "Potensic_F181WH_XXXX"). Open the Potensic FPV app.
  2. Live Video: The app will display a live video feed from the drone's camera.
  3. Photo/Video Capture: Use the dedicated buttons on the remote control or the app interface to take photos or start/stop video recording. Captured media is saved to the inserted SD card (if applicable) and/or your smartphone.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

  • Wipe the drone body with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Gently clean the camera lens with a microfiber cloth to ensure clear image quality.
  • Remove any debris from the motors and propellers.

7.2 Propeller Replacement

If a propeller is damaged, replace it immediately:

  1. Unscrew the damaged propeller using the provided screwdriver.
  2. Carefully remove the old propeller.
  3. Install a new propeller, ensuring it matches the 'A' or 'B' marking of the motor shaft.
  4. Secure the new propeller with a screw.

7.3 Storage

  • Store the drone and remote control in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
  • Remove batteries from the remote control if storing for extended periods.
  • Charge drone batteries to approximately 50% before long-term storage to prolong battery life.

8. Troubleshooting
