Setup and Installation

Refill Assembly

  1. Lift the front cover of your Glade Sense & Spray unit.
  2. Lay the refill canister into position over the tan tab inside the unit.
  3. Snap the canister into place. You will hear a distinct click, indicating the refill is correctly inserted.
  4. Pull and discard the red tab to activate the batteries (if not already activated).

Battery Installation/Replacement

  1. Lift the front cover of the unit.
  2. Insert two new AA batteries, ensuring they are positioned correctly according to the polarity indicators.
  3. NOTE: The unit will not function if batteries are installed backward.

Operation

The Glade Sense & Spray unit automatically dispenses fragrance when its motion sensor detects movement and a shadow is cast upon it. To conserve the refill, the unit enters a lock-out mode after detecting motion and spraying.

  • For standard Sense & Spray units, the lock-out mode duration is 20 minutes.
  • For Sense & Spray units with a 360-degree design, the lock-out mode can be 15, 20, or 30 minutes, depending on the switch setting.

During lock-out mode, the sensors are inactive, and the unit will not automatically spray. Once the lock-out period expires, the unit is ready to detect motion again.

For an immediate burst of fragrance at any time, press the boost button located on the top of the unit.

Important: Use only Glade Sense & Spray refills with this unit.

Placement

For optimal performance, place the unit upright on a flat surface. Ensure that the upward spray will not be obstructed. Position the unit within five feet of typical traffic flow to maximize motion detection.

Maintenance

Refill Replacement

  1. Lift the front cover of the unit.
  2. Remove the empty refill canister.
  3. Install a new canister by following the assembly instructions provided in the "Setup and Installation" section (steps 2-3).

Refer to the "Battery Installation/Replacement" instructions in the "Setup and Installation" section.

Troubleshooting

Sensor Not Responding

The motion sensor may not respond under certain conditions:

  • Insufficient Lighting: If the room is too dark, the sensor may not detect shadows. Ensure there is sufficient lighting for a shadow to be cast upon the sensor.
  • Direct Light Exposure: If the unit is placed directly in or on a light source, especially sunlight, move the unit out of the bright light.
  • Blocked Sensor: Objects blocking the sensor on the front of the device can prevent detection. Reposition the unit so that the sensor is unobstructed.
