Setup

1. Mounting the Dartboard

  1. Choose a suitable wall location, ensuring sufficient space for throwing and player movement.
  2. Using the included mounting hardware, securely attach the dartboard to the wall. The center of the bullseye should be 5 feet 8 inches (1.73 meters) from the floor.

2. Power Connection

  • Connect the AC power adapter to the dartboard's power input jack, typically located on the side or bottom.
  • Plug the AC adapter into a standard electrical outlet.

3. LaserLite Laser Throw Line Setup

  • The Viper LaserLite laser throw line plugs directly into the bottom of the dartboard.
  • Position the LaserLite to project a clear throw line on the floor at the regulation distance of 7 feet 9.25 inches (2.37 meters) from the face of the dartboard. Adjust as needed for optimal visibility.

Operating Instructions

1. Powering On/Off

  • Press the 'ON/OFF' button on the control panel to power on the dartboard.
  • Press the 'ON/OFF' button again to power off the dartboard.

2. Game Selection

  • The Viper 800 offers 57 games with over 300 scoring options.
  • Use the 'GAME MENU' button to browse through the available games. The game list is printed on the dartboard's control panel for easy reference.
  • Popular games include 301, 501, Cricket, Killer, and more.

3. Player Selection

  • Press the 'NUMBER OF PLAYERS' button to select the desired number of players, up to 16.
  • The dartboard supports team multiplayer and solo play against a computer opponent with 5 difficulty levels.

4. Game Options

  • Use the 'GAME OPTIONS' button to customize game settings, such as single/double bull, double in/out, and handicap features.
  • The 'SOUND CONTROL' button adjusts the volume or mutes game sounds.
  • 'AUTO PLAYER CHANGE' automatically switches to the next player's turn.

5. Scoring Display

  • The bright LCD display provides a clear view of current scores, temporary scores, and player statistics.
  • The extended scoreboard is particularly useful for games like Spanish Cricket and 01 matches, showing PPD (Points Per Dart) and MPR (Marks Per Round) averages.

6. Playing Darts

  • Throw the soft-tip darts at the 15.5-inch regulation-sized target face.
  • The thermal resin segments and ultra-thin spider are designed to reduce bounce-outs and maximize scoring area.
  • Darts will register automatically on the electronic scoreboard.
  • A large missed dart catch ring protects your wall from errant throws.

7. Dart Storage

  • The dartboard features built-in storage holsters on both sides for up to 6 darts.
  • An internal compartment is available to store extra dart tips.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the dartboard's surface and control panel with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Dart Tips: Regularly inspect dart tips for wear. Replace broken or worn tips with the provided replacements to ensure proper dart registration and prevent damage to the board.
  • Storage: When not in use, store darts in the integrated holsters or compartment. Keep the dartboard in a dry environment.

Troubleshooting

  • Darts Not Registering: Ensure soft-tip darts are used and tips are not broken or excessively worn. Darts must fully penetrate the segment holes to register.
  • Power Issues: Check that the AC adapter is securely plugged into both the dartboard and a working electrical outlet.
  • Error Code 'Err 19': This error code indicates a potential internal malfunction. If this occurs, try unplugging the dartboard for a few minutes and then plugging it back in. If the error persists, contact customer support.
  • LaserLite Not Working: Ensure the LaserLite is correctly plugged into the dartboard and its power switch is in the 'ON' position.
