Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the remote control.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert two AAA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
2. Learning Function (Copying from Original Remote)
The BKR-33 remote learns functions directly from your existing remote controls. This process needs to be done for each button you wish to program.
- Place the Amplicomms BKR-33 and your original remote control on a flat surface, facing each other, with their infrared emitters aligned at a distance of approximately 2-5 cm.
- Press and hold the desired device button (e.g., TV, SAT) on the BKR-33 for approximately 3 seconds until the indicator light flashes slowly.
- Press the button on the BKR-33 that you wish to program (e.g., Power button). The indicator light will now flash rapidly.
- Press and hold the corresponding button on your original remote control (e.g., Power button) until the indicator light on the BKR-33 flashes three times and then stays on. This indicates successful learning.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 for all other buttons you wish to program for that device.
- To exit learning mode, press the device button again or wait for 10 seconds.
Note: If the indicator light does not flash as described, ensure batteries are fresh and the remotes are properly aligned. Some original remotes may have weaker IR signals, requiring closer proximity or a longer press.
Operating Instructions
Once programmed, operating the Amplicomms BKR-33 is straightforward:
- Device Selection: Press the corresponding device button (e.g., TV, SAT) to select the device you wish to control. The indicator light will illuminate to confirm selection.
- Power Button (⏻): Turns the selected device on or off.
- Number Buttons (0-9, *, #): For direct channel input or other numerical functions.
- Volume Buttons (Volume +, Volume -): Adjusts the volume of the selected device.
- Channel Buttons (Channels ∧, Channels ∨): Changes channels up or down.
- Illumination Button (💡): Activates the backlight for the buttons, improving visibility in low-light conditions.
- Favorite Buttons (♥1, ♥2): These buttons can be programmed for frequently used functions or favorite channels.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the remote control with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Battery Replacement: When the remote's performance degrades, replace the AAA batteries. The remote retains its programming even after battery replacement, so no re-programming is necessary.
- Storage: Store the remote in a dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
