Setup
1. Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the side of the rangefinder.
- Twist the battery cap counter-clockwise to open.
- Insert a new CR2 3-volt lithium battery, ensuring the positive (+) terminal is facing outwards.
- Replace the battery cap and twist clockwise until securely closed.
2. Powering On/Off
- To power on, press and release the Power/Fire button (usually located on top).
- The device will automatically power off after approximately 10 seconds of inactivity to conserve battery.
3. Focus Adjustment
Rotate the eyepiece until the display and the target appear sharp and clear. This adjustment is crucial for optimal viewing and accurate measurement.
4. Mode Selection (Slope Switch)
The Tour V4 Jolt features a Slope Switch for easy toggling between Slope-compensated distance mode and non-Slope (tournament legal) mode.
- To activate Slope mode, slide the side switch to reveal the red indicator. In this mode, the device calculates and displays the "play as" distance based on elevation changes.
- To deactivate Slope mode (for tournament play), slide the switch to cover the red indicator. The device will then provide only line-of-sight distance.
Operating Instructions
1. Measuring Distance (Pinseeker with JOLT)
- Look through the eyepiece and aim the aiming circle (reticle) at your desired target.
- Press and hold the Power/Fire button. The distance will be displayed in the lower part of the display.
- For Pinseeker technology, aim at the flag. As the device isolates the flag from background objects, the JOLT technology will provide short vibrating pulses, confirming that the flag has been locked onto. The precise distance to the flag will be displayed.
2. Scan Mode
For continuous distance readings to multiple targets:
- Press and hold the Power/Fire button.
- Pan the rangefinder across various targets. The display will continuously update with distances to different objects.
3. Changing Units of Measurement (Yards/Meters)
To switch between Yards (Y) and Meters (M):
- With the unit powered on, press and hold the Mode button (usually located near the Power/Fire button) for approximately 3 seconds.
- The unit of measurement will change, indicated by 'Y' or 'M' in the display.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning Lenses
Gently blow away any dust or debris from the lenses. Use the provided cleaning cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe the lenses. Avoid using abrasive materials or excessive force, which can scratch the lens coatings.
2. Battery Care
- Replace the battery when the low battery indicator appears in the display.
- Remove the battery if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
3. Storage
Store the rangefinder in its protective case in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid extreme temperatures and high humidity.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No display or device won't power on. | Dead or incorrectly installed battery. | Replace the CR2 battery, ensuring correct polarity. |
| Inaccurate distance readings. | Unclear focus, dirty lenses, or aiming at the wrong target. | Adjust the eyepiece focus. Clean the lenses. Ensure you are aiming at the intended target, especially with Pinseeker. |
| JOLT feature not working. | Not locking onto the flag, or low battery. | Ensure the flag is clearly visible and isolated. Replace the battery if low. |
| Cannot switch between Yards/Meters. | Not pressing the Mode button correctly or long enough. | Press and hold the Mode button for approximately 3 seconds while the unit is powered on. |
