2. Product Overview
The Koolatron Urban Series 12-Bottle Dual Zone Wine Cooler is designed to store your wine collection at optimal temperatures. It features thermoelectric cooling technology, dual temperature zones, and UV protective glass.

3. Setup and Installation
3.1 Unpacking
- Remove all packaging materials, including foam and tape.
- Inspect the unit for any damage. Report any damage to your retailer immediately.
- Clean the interior and exterior of the unit with a soft cloth and mild detergent before use.
3.2 Placement
This wine cooler is designed for freestanding or counter-top installation. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
- Place the unit on a flat, stable surface away from direct sunlight or heat sources.
- Allow at least 4 inches (10 cm) of space at the back and sides for proper air circulation.
- Do not place the unit in an enclosed cabinet without proper ventilation.

3.3 Leveling the Unit
The wine cooler is equipped with adjustable legs to ensure it is level. Proper leveling is crucial for optimal performance and to prevent vibrations.
- Turn the adjustable legs clockwise to raise the unit, or counter-clockwise to lower it.
- Use a level to ensure the unit is perfectly balanced.
3.4 Power Connection
Connect the power cord to a grounded 120 Volt AC outlet. Do not use extension cords or adapters.
- Allow the unit to stand upright for at least 2 hours before plugging it in to allow refrigerants to settle.
- After plugging in, allow the unit to cool for approximately 30 minutes before loading with wine bottles.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Control Panel
The wine cooler features a touch-sensitive digital control panel for easy temperature adjustment and light control.

- Switch Button: Toggles between the upper and lower temperature zones for adjustment.
- Up/Down Buttons: Adjust the desired temperature for the selected zone.
- Light Button: Turns the interior LED light on or off.
4.2 Temperature Zones
This unit features dual temperature zones to accommodate different wine types:
- Upper Zone Cooling Range: 54-66°F (12-18°C) - Ideal for red wines.
- Lower Zone Cooling Range: 46-66°F (8-18°C) - Suitable for white and sparkling wines.
To set the temperature:
- Press the 'Switch' button to select either the 'Top' or 'Bottom' zone. The corresponding indicator light will illuminate.
- Use the 'Up' or 'Down' buttons to adjust the desired temperature. The display will flash while adjusting and then show the current temperature once set.
4.3 Loading Wine Bottles
The cooler is designed to hold up to 12 standard 750ml wine bottles. It includes 4 removable wire racks.

- Ensure bottles are placed horizontally to keep corks moist.
- Do not overload shelves, as this can impede air circulation.
- The wire racks are removable for cleaning or to accommodate larger bottles.
4.4 UV Protective Glass Door
The double-paned glass door is designed to block harmful UV rays, protecting your wine from light degradation. An internal fan maintains optimal temperature throughout the unit.

4.5 Recommended Serving Temperatures
For optimal enjoyment, consider these recommended serving temperatures:

- Red Wine: 55-65°F (12-19°C)
- White Wine: 48-54°F (9-12°C)
- Sparkling Wine: 45-47°F (7-8°C)
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning
- Always unplug the unit before cleaning.
- Clean the interior with a soft cloth and a solution of baking soda and water (2 tablespoons of baking soda to 1 quart of water).
- Clean the exterior with a mild detergent and a soft cloth.
- Ensure the door seal is clean and free of debris to maintain an airtight seal.
5.2 Defrosting
This unit features manual defrost. Frost buildup can occur over time, especially in humid environments.
- Unplug the unit and remove all wine bottles.
- Leave the door open to allow frost to melt naturally. Place a towel at the bottom to absorb water.
- Do not use sharp objects or heating devices to remove frost.
- Once defrosted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly before plugging the unit back in.
