3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Basic Measurement Modes
3.1.1 Single Distance Measurement
This mode measures the direct distance between the device and a target.
- Aim the laser beam at the desired target.
- Press the 'READ' button. The measured distance will be displayed instantly.

3.1.2 Continuous Measurement (Tracking)
This mode continuously measures and displays the distance as the device moves, showing maximum and minimum values.
- From single measurement mode, press and hold the 'READ' button.
- Move the device slowly. The display will update in real-time, showing the current, maximum, and minimum distances.
- Press the 'READ' button again to stop continuous measurement.
3.2 Advanced Measurement Functions
Press the 'MENU' button to cycle through various measurement functions.
3.2.1 Area Measurement
Calculates the area of a rectangular surface.
- Select the Area measurement function from the menu.
- Measure the first side (e.g., length) by aiming the laser and pressing 'READ'.
- Measure the second side (e.g., width) by aiming the laser and pressing 'READ'.
- The calculated area will be displayed.

3.2.2 Volume Measurement
Calculates the volume of a rectangular space.
- Select the Volume measurement function.
- Measure the length, width, and height sequentially by aiming the laser and pressing 'READ' after each measurement.
- The calculated volume will be displayed.
3.2.3 Pythagorean Measurement
Used for indirect measurement of heights or distances where direct measurement is not possible.
- Select the desired Pythagorean function (e.g., two-point or three-point).
- Follow the on-screen prompts to take the required measurements (e.g., hypotenuse and one leg) by aiming the laser and pressing 'READ'.
- The device will calculate and display the unknown dimension.

3.2.4 Staking-Out Function
Helps to find positions that match a setting distance.
- Select the Staking-Out function.
- Enter the desired staking-out distance.
- Move the device along the measurement line. The display will indicate when you are approaching or have reached the set distance.
3.3 Other Functions
3.3.1 Unit Selection
Press the 'UNIT' button to cycle through available measurement units: meters (m), inches (in), and feet (ft).
3.3.2 Reference Point Setting
The device allows setting four reference points: front, middle, rear, and extension benchmark. This ensures accurate measurements from different starting points. Consult the on-screen icons to select the appropriate reference point for your measurement.
3.3.3 Electronic Level Bubble
The integrated electronic level bubble assists in ensuring the device is held level for more accurate measurements, particularly for angle-related functions.
3.3.4 Data Storage and Recall
The device can store up to 100 sets of measurement data.
- After a measurement, the result is automatically saved.
- To recall stored data, press the 'MENU' button until the data storage icon appears.
- Use the arrow buttons to navigate through the stored measurements.
