1. Introduction

2. Important Safety Information

  • Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding, papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 feet (0.9 m) from the front of the heater and keep them away from the sides and rear.
  • Always unplug the heater when not in use.
  • Do not operate any heater with a damaged cord or plug or after the heater malfunctions, has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
  • This heater is for indoor use only.

4. Setup

  1. Unpack: Carefully remove the heater from its packaging. Retain packaging for storage.
  2. Placement: Place the heater on a firm, level surface. Ensure there is at least 3 feet (0.9 m) of clear space around the heater from any combustible materials.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a 120V/60Hz electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is in good condition and not overloaded.

5. Operating Instructions

Your BLACK+DECKER Ceramic Utility Heater features simple manual controls.

  1. Power On/Mode Selection:
    • Turn the lower knob (Mode Selector) to select your desired operating mode:
      • OFF: Turns the heater off.
      • FAN: Operates the fan without heat, for air circulation.
      • LOW HEAT: Provides low heat output.
      • HIGH HEAT: Provides maximum heat output (1500 Watts).
  2. Adjusting Thermostat:
    • Once a heat mode (LOW HEAT or HIGH HEAT) is selected, turn the upper knob (Thermostat Control) to adjust the desired room temperature.
      • Turn towards MAX for higher temperature.
      • Turn towards MIN for lower temperature.
    • The heater will cycle on and off to maintain the set temperature.
  3. Adjusting Airflow Angle:
    • The heater features an adjustable tilt function. Loosen the red knobs on the sides of the unit to adjust the angle of the heater, then tighten to secure.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your heater.

  • Cleaning: Always unplug the heater and allow it to cool completely before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the exterior surfaces. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the heater in a cool, dry place. It is recommended to store it in its original packaging to protect it from dust and damage.
