• Always disconnect the power cord from the electrical outlet before performing any service or maintenance.
• Do not bury the electrical cord. Locate the cord where it will not be damaged by lawn mowers, hedge trimmers, or other equipment.
• To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not use an extension cord to connect the unit to electric supply; provide a properly located outlet.

Setup & Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the efficient operation and longevity of your filter pump. Follow these steps carefully.

1. Site Selection:

• Place the filter pump on a firm, level surface.
• Ensure the pump is at least 2 meters (6.5 feet) away from the pool.
• The pump should be easily accessible for maintenance.
• Avoid placing the pump in areas prone to flooding or excessive moisture.

2. Connecting Hoses:

1. Attach one hose to the lower connection of the pool (water inlet) and the "IN" port of the pump. Secure with hose clamps.
2. Attach the second hose to the upper connection of the pool (water outlet) and the "OUT" port of the pump. Secure with hose clamps.
3. Ensure all connections are tight to prevent leaks.

3. Installing Filter Cartridge:

1. Unscrew the filter housing collar and remove the lid.
2. Insert the Type A filter cartridge into the pump housing.
3. Replace the lid and screw the collar back on tightly.

Operation

Once installed, operating your filter pump is straightforward. Follow these steps for safe and effective use.

1. Priming the Pump:

1. Ensure the pool is filled with water to the appropriate level.
2. Open the air release valve on top of the filter pump housing.
3. Water will begin to fill the pump. Once a steady stream of water flows from the air release valve, close the valve. This indicates the pump is primed.

2. Starting the Pump:

• Plug the pump into a grounded electrical outlet.
• The pump will begin to circulate water.
• Allow the pump to run for several hours daily to ensure proper filtration. The recommended run time depends on pool size and usage.

3. Shutting Down the Pump:

• Unplug the pump from the electrical outlet.
• If performing maintenance, close the plunger valves on the pool's inlet and outlet connections to prevent water flow.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your filter pump.

1. Cleaning the Filter Cartridge:

• Disconnect the power.
• Unscrew the filter housing collar and remove the lid.
• Remove the filter cartridge.
• Rinse the cartridge thoroughly with a garden hose to remove debris.
• If the cartridge remains dirty or discolored after rinsing, it should be replaced.
• Reinsert the cleaned or new cartridge and reassemble the pump.

2. Replacing the Filter Cartridge:

• Filter cartridges should be replaced every two weeks, or more frequently depending on pool usage and water condition.
• Always use genuine Intex Type A replacement cartridges.

3. Winterization:

• Before freezing temperatures, disconnect the pump from the power supply.
• Drain all water from the pump and hoses.
• Remove the filter cartridge and discard it.
• Store the pump and hoses in a dry, frost-free location.
