Introduction

Hillyard Top Clean is a fast-acting, synthetic cleaner designed to effectively remove soil while preserving the shine of metal cross-linked finishes. Its neutral pH formula ensures it attacks dirt without harming your floor or its finish. This concentrated formula offers economical cost-in-use and includes defoaming agents to minimize foam build-up during cleaning.

Safety Information

Always read and follow all instructions and safety precautions on the product label before use. Keep out of reach of children and pets. Avoid contact with eyes and prolonged contact with skin. In case of contact, rinse thoroughly with water.

Important Note: In Federally inspected meat and poultry plants, follow all usage with a thorough potable water rinse.

Setup

• Ensure the work area is well-ventilated.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), such as gloves and eye protection, to prevent skin and eye irritation.
• Always use cold tap water for dilution unless otherwise specified.
• Prepare your cleaning equipment (mop, bucket, scrubber, spray bottle, clean cloths) before starting.

Operating Instructions

Hillyard Top Clean is a concentrated formula. Dilute according to the specific application below:

Floors

• For Daily Damp Mopping: Use 1 ounce to 2 ounces of Top Clean per gallon of water.
• For Machine Scrubbing: Use 1 ounce to 3 ounces per gallon of water.
• For Automatic Scrubber: Use 1 ounce to 2 ounces of Top Clean per gallon of water (adjust based on the amount of surface soil). Use a light scrub pad only.
• Remove the soiled cleaning solution. Rinsing is not necessary after normal cleaning.
• When preparing a surface to receive paint, finish, etc.: Rinse with clean water after scrubbing.

Walls

• Dilute 4 ounces of cleaner per gallon of water.
• Apply the solution with a sponge or cloth, starting at the bottom of the wall and working towards the top to prevent streaking.

Glass

• Dilute 2 ounces to 4 ounces of cleaner per gallon of water.
• Spray the surface evenly.
• Wipe dry with a clean, lint-free cloth for a streak-free finish.

Bus, Auto, and Truck Bodies

• Dilute 1 ounce to 2 ounces of cleaner per gallon of water.
• Apply the solution and rinse thoroughly.

Maintenance

• Store the product in its original container, tightly closed, in a cool, dry place.
• Keep away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
• Do not mix with other cleaning products unless specifically instructed.

Troubleshooting

• If cleaning results are unsatisfactory: Verify that the correct dilution ratio has been used. Ensure the surface was properly prepared (e.g., swept or vacuumed before mopping).
• For stubborn stains: A slightly higher concentration within the recommended limits may be used, followed by a thorough rinse with clean water.
• Excessive foaming: While Top Clean contains defoaming agents, ensure proper dilution and application methods are followed.
