Introduction

Welcome to the world of electronic darts with your new Viper Showdown Electronic Dartboard. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, and maintaining your dartboard to ensure years of enjoyment. The Viper Showdown features a regulation size 15.5” target area, automatic scoring, and a wide variety of games for up to 8 players.

Please read this manual thoroughly before initial use.

Included Accessories: Six soft tip darts, a bag of replacement tips, and three mounting screws.

Setup

1. Mounting the Dartboard

  1. Choose a suitable location: Ensure there is enough clear space around the dartboard for safe play, free from obstructions.
  2. Determine mounting height: The center of the bullseye should be 5 feet 8 inches (1.73 meters) from the floor.
  3. Securely mount the dartboard using the provided mounting hardware. Use appropriate wall anchors if mounting into drywall.

2. Installing Batteries

The Viper Showdown Electronic Dartboard is battery operated for a cord-free experience. It requires three (3) AA batteries (not included).

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back or bottom of the dartboard.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert three AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3. Setting the Throw Line

Use the included throw line and measuring tape to mark the proper throwing distance.

  1. For soft tip darts, the standard throwing distance is 8 feet (2.44 meters) from the face of the dartboard.
  2. Use the throw line measuring tape to accurately mark this distance on the floor.
  3. Apply the throw line to the floor at the marked distance.

Operating Instructions

Powering On/Off

Press the On/Off button located on the control panel to power the dartboard on or off.

Selecting Games and Options

The dartboard offers 32 pre-programmed games with over 590 scoring options.

  1. After powering on, the LCD display will show the default game.
  2. Use the Page Up and Page Down buttons to scroll through the available games.
  3. Press the Enter button to select a game.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to select game options (e.g., number of players, scoring variations).

Playing a Game

  1. Once a game is selected and options are set, the display will indicate the current player.
  2. Throw your darts at the board. The automatic scoring system will register hits.
  3. If a dart does not register, press the Miss button to manually advance to the next throw or player.
  4. Press the Next Player button to switch turns after all darts have been thrown for the current player.
  5. The dartboard supports up to 8 players for multiplayer games.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Wipe the dartboard surface with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the electronic components or the board's finish.

Replacing Soft Tips

The soft tips on your darts may wear down or break over time. Replace them as needed using the included replacement tips or standard 2BA soft tips.

Dart Storage

The dartboard features built-in dart holders on the sides for convenient storage of up to six fully assembled darts when not in use.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Dartboard does not power on.Batteries are dead or incorrectly installed.Check battery polarity. Replace with new AA batteries.
Darts do not register on the board.Worn or broken soft tips. Dart not thrown firmly enough.Replace soft tips. Ensure darts are thrown with sufficient force to penetrate the segment holes.
Incorrect scoring.Multiple darts hitting the same segment simultaneously.Ensure only one dart hits a segment at a time for accurate scoring. If issue persists, try resetting the board.
Display is dim or flickering.Low battery power.Replace batteries.
