Important Safety Information

WARNING: Improper installation, adjustment, alteration, service, or maintenance can cause property damage, injury, or death. Read the installation, operating, and maintenance instructions thoroughly before installing or servicing this equipment.

  • Always disconnect power before servicing or cleaning the heater.
  • Do not operate the heater with a damaged cord or plug, or after the heater malfunctions or has been dropped or damaged in any manner.
  • Keep combustible materials, such as furniture, papers, clothes, and curtains, at least 3 feet (0.9 meters) from the front of the heater and away from the sides and rear.
  • This heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let bare skin touch hot surfaces.
  • Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any ventilation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric shock or fire, or damage the heater.
  • Installation must be performed by a qualified electrician in accordance with all local electrical codes.

Setup and Installation

The Infratech SL Series heater is designed for permanent installation. Professional installation by a licensed electrician is highly recommended to ensure compliance with all local electrical codes and safety standards.

Mounting Considerations

Proper mounting height and location are crucial for optimal heating performance and safety. Consider the heat coverage area and required clearances. The heater can be mounted on walls or ceilings using the integrated mounting brackets.

For the SL3024SV model (3000 Watt), refer to the diagram above for recommended heat coverage and mounting heights. Ensure adequate clearance from combustible materials as specified in the safety section.

Electrical Connection

This heater operates on 240 Volts and requires a dedicated circuit. The electrical wiring must be hardwired directly to a suitable power source by a qualified electrician. Ensure the circuit breaker is appropriately sized for a 3000 Watt load.

Operating Instructions

The Infratech SL Series heater is designed for simple operation once properly installed.

  1. Power On: Ensure the heater is properly wired and the circuit breaker is in the "ON" position.
  2. Control: This heater typically operates with an external control system (e.g., wall switch, dimmer, or home automation system) which should be installed by your electrician. Activate the heater via your chosen control method.
  3. Heating: The radiant element will begin to glow and emit heat almost immediately. Allow a few minutes for the heater to reach its full operating temperature and for the radiant heat to warm the desired area.
  4. Power Off: Deactivate the heater using your external control system. For extended periods of non-use, it is recommended to turn off the dedicated circuit breaker.

The radiant heating technology directly warms objects and people, similar to the sun, providing efficient and comfortable heat without warming the air directly.

Maintenance

Your Infratech heater requires minimal maintenance. Regular cleaning will help maintain its appearance and efficiency.

  • Cleaning: Ensure the heater is completely cool and disconnected from power before cleaning. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the exterior housing. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals.
  • Element Inspection: Periodically inspect the heating element for any visible damage or debris. If the element appears damaged, contact a qualified service technician. Do not attempt to repair the element yourself.
  • Clearances: Regularly check that the area around the heater remains clear of any obstructions or combustible materials.
