1. Introduction

The JJC SR-F2 Remote Commander is a versatile accessory designed to provide remote control functionality for compatible Sony cameras and camcorders. It connects via the Multi Terminal or REMOTE Terminal, allowing users to operate various camera functions from a distance of up to 1 meter. • Shutter Release Button (Top, large circular): Press halfway to focus, fully to release the shutter. Slide to lock for Bulb or continuous shooting.
• POWER Button: Turns the camcorder on/off or activates the camera.
• GRID LINE Button: Displays or hides the grid line on the camera's display.
• W/T Zoom Buttons: Controls the zoom function for motor-driven lenses. 'W' for wide, 'T' for telephoto.
• START/STOP Button (Red dot): Initiates or stops video recording.

The back of the remote features a 1/4"-20 female thread, allowing it to be mounted on tripods, light stands, or other accessories. The removable clip provides additional mounting options.

5. Setup

1. Identify Camera Port: Determine if your Sony camera or camcorder has a Multi Terminal or a dedicated REMOTE Terminal.
2. Select Correct Cable: Choose the appropriate cable (Multi-terminal Cable or Remote Terminal Cable) that matches your camera's port.
3. Connect Cable to Remote: Plug one end of the selected cable into the port on the side of the SR-F2 Remote Commander.
4. Connect Cable to Camera: Plug the other end of the cable into the corresponding port on your camera or camcorder. Ensure the connection is secure. For smaller cameras like the RX100 series, be aware that the Multiport plug is longer than a standard USB micro plug. Insert it carefully until it seats, but do not force it fully into the body if resistance is met, as some cameras are designed with a slight gap. Ensure strain relief on the cable to prevent accidental disconnection.
5. Mounting (Optional): Attach the removable clip to the remote if desired, or use the 1/4"-20 thread to mount it onto a tripod or other support.

6. Operating Instructions

The SR-F2 Remote Commander provides various functions for controlling your camera or camcorder:

• Power On/Off (Camcorders) / Activate (Cameras): Press the POWER button.
• Video Recording: Press the START/STOP button (red dot) once to begin recording. Press it again to stop recording.
• Still Image Recording / Shutter Release: Press the large circular shutter release button halfway to focus. Press it fully to capture a still image.
• Zoom Control: Use the W (Wide) and T (Telephoto) buttons to zoom in or out with compatible motor-driven lenses.
• Grid Line Display: Press the GRID LINE button to toggle the display of grid lines on your camera's screen, assisting with composition.
• Bulb Long Exposure / Continuous Shots: Slide the shutter release button to the 'Lock' position (indicated by a lock icon near the button) to hold the shutter open for Bulb photography or to enable continuous shooting, depending on your camera's settings. Slide it back to unlock.

8. Maintenance

• Clean the remote commander with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
• Store the remote in a cool, dry place when not in use.
• Avoid dropping the device or subjecting it to strong impacts.

9. Troubleshooting

• Remote not responding:
  • Ensure the cable is securely connected to both the remote and the camera/camcorder.
  • Verify that you are using the correct cable for your camera's terminal (Multi Terminal or REMOTE Terminal).
  • Check your camera's settings to ensure external remote control is enabled, if applicable.
  • For RX100 series cameras, ensure the cable is properly seated in the multiport, as it may not fully disappear into the camera body. Apply strain relief to the cable.
• Zoom function not working:
  • Ensure your camera has a motor-driven zoom lens. Manual zoom lenses will not respond to the remote's zoom controls.
  • Confirm camera compatibility (e.g., Sony A58 does not support zoom via this remote).
• Shutter release not working:
  • Ensure the shutter release button is not in the 'Lock' position.
  • For Sony A100, only the shutter release function is supported.
