4. Setup Guide

4.1 Initial Hardware Setup

  1. Positioning: Place your router in a central location to maximize Wi-Fi coverage. Avoid placing it near large metal objects, concrete walls, or other electronic devices that may cause interference.
  2. Connect Modem: Connect one end of the provided networking cable to the WAN port of your RT-ACRH13 router and the other end to your modem's LAN port.
  3. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the DC-IN socket of the router and then into a power outlet. Press the POWER button to turn on the router.
  4. Wait for Indicators: Allow a few minutes for the router to boot up. Observe the LED indicators on the front panel. The Power LED should be solid blue, and the WAN LED should indicate an active internet connection.

4.2 Network Configuration via ASUS Router App

The ASUS Router App provides an intuitive way to set up and manage your network.

  1. Download App: Download the ASUS Router App from your mobile device's app store (App Store for iOS, Google Play for Android).
  2. Connect to Router's Wi-Fi: On your mobile device, connect to the default Wi-Fi network name (SSID) broadcast by the router. This information is usually found on a label on the bottom of the router.
  3. Launch App: Open the ASUS Router App and follow the on-screen instructions to detect and configure your new router. You will be guided through setting up your Wi-Fi name (SSID) and password, as well as the router's administration password.

4.3 Network Configuration via Web Interface (ASUSWRT)

Alternatively, you can configure your router using a web browser.

  1. Connect Device: Connect your computer to the router via an Ethernet cable (to any LAN port) or wirelessly to the default Wi-Fi network.
  2. Access Web Interface: Open a web browser and type router.asus.com or the router's default IP address (e.g., 192.168.1.1) into the address bar and press Enter.
  3. Login: Enter the default username and password (usually admin/admin, check the router's label or quick start guide).
  4. Follow Setup Wizard: The ASUSWRT setup wizard will guide you through the internet connection setup, Wi-Fi settings, and administrator password creation.
