Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Seiko Clocks QHL075K LCD Alarm Clock. This device features a digital time display, calendar, thermometer, beep alarm with snooze, and dial illumination for enhanced visibility.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the clock.
2. Open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert two (2) AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -). Two AA batteries are included with the product.
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Upon successful battery installation, the LCD display will illuminate, and the clock will be ready for initial time and date settings.

Operating Instructions

1. Setting the Time and Date

1. Press and hold the TIME SET button until the time display begins to flash.
2. Use the UP or DOWN buttons to adjust the hour. Pay attention to the AM/PM indicator.
3. Press TIME SET again to move to the minutes setting. Use UP or DOWN to adjust.
4. Continue pressing TIME SET to cycle through year, month, and day settings, adjusting each with the UP or DOWN buttons.
5. Press TIME SET one last time to exit the setting mode.

2. Setting the Alarm

1. To set the alarm time, press the ALARM switch to the ON position. The alarm time will be displayed.
2. While the alarm time is displayed, use the UP or DOWN buttons to adjust the desired alarm hour and minutes.
3. The alarm will automatically set after a few seconds of inactivity or by pressing TIME SET.
4. To activate or deactivate the alarm, slide the ALARM switch between ON and OFF. When ON, an alarm icon will appear on the display.

3. Snooze Function

When the alarm sounds, press any button (except the ALARM switch) to activate the snooze function. The alarm will temporarily stop and sound again after approximately 5 minutes. To turn off the alarm completely, slide the ALARM switch to OFF.

4. Daylight Saving Time (DST)

To activate or deactivate Daylight Saving Time, press the DST button. An indicator will appear on the display when DST is active, and the time will adjust by one hour.

5. Dial Illumination

To temporarily illuminate the display, press the LIGHT button. The light will stay on for a few seconds. To keep the light on continuously, slide the LIGHT switch to ON. Slide it to OFF to conserve battery life.

6. Thermometer Display

The clock continuously displays the ambient temperature in Celsius. No adjustment is required for this feature.

Maintenance

1. Battery Replacement

When the display becomes dim or the clock functions erratically, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the "Setup" section. Always replace both batteries simultaneously with new AA batteries.

2. Cleaning

Wipe the clock with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these may damage the casing or display.

Troubleshooting

• Display is blank or dim: Check battery polarity. Replace batteries if they are old or depleted.
• Time is incorrect: Re-set the time following the "Setting the Time and Date" instructions. Ensure DST is correctly set for your region.
• Alarm does not sound: Ensure the ALARM switch is in the ON position and the alarm time is correctly set.
• Clock is unresponsive: Press the RESET button (usually a small recessed button requiring a pointed object like a pen tip) to restart the clock. You will need to re-set the time and date after a reset.
