Product Overview

The Xbox Wireless Controller offers an enhanced gaming experience with its sleek, streamlined design and textured grip. It features custom button mapping and provides up to twice the wireless range compared to previous Xbox One controllers. A 3.5mm stereo headset jack is integrated for audio connectivity. Setup

1. Battery Installation

The Xbox Wireless Controller requires two AA batteries (included). To install:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the controller.
  2. Press the release tab and lift the battery cover.
  3. Insert two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
  4. Replace the battery cover until it clicks securely into place.

2. Pairing Your Controller

For Xbox One Consoles:

  1. Turn on your Xbox One console.
  2. Press and hold the Xbox button (X) on the controller to turn it on.
  3. Press the Pair button on the Xbox One console (usually a small circular button on the front or side).
  4. Within 20 seconds, press and hold the Pair button on the controller (located on the top edge, near the USB port) until the Xbox button on the controller flashes rapidly.
  5. Once the Xbox button on the controller glows solid, it is paired.

For Windows 10 PCs and Tablets (via Bluetooth):

  1. Ensure your Windows 10 device has Bluetooth enabled.
  2. Press and hold the Xbox button (X) on the controller to turn it on.
  3. Press and hold the Pair button on the controller (located on the top edge, near the USB port) for three seconds until the Xbox button flashes rapidly.
  4. On your Windows 10 device, go to Settings > Devices > Bluetooth & other devices.
  5. Select "Add Bluetooth or other device" and then "Bluetooth".
  6. Choose "Xbox Wireless Controller" from the list of available devices.
  7. Follow any on-screen prompts to complete the pairing process.

Operating Instructions

Basic Controls:

  • Xbox Button (X): Powers on/off the controller, opens the Guide on Xbox, or the Game Bar on Windows.
  • View Button: Provides additional information in games or apps.
  • Menu Button: Opens game or app menus.
  • A, B, X, Y Buttons: Standard action buttons.
  • Directional Pad (D-Pad): For precise directional input.
  • Left/Right Analog Sticks: For movement and camera control.
  • Left/Right Bumpers (LB, RB): Typically used for quick actions or menu navigation.
  • Left/Right Triggers (LT, RT): Pressure-sensitive for actions like acceleration or firing.

Headset Connectivity:

Plug any compatible 3.5mm stereo headset directly into the jack located at the bottom of the controller for game audio and chat functionality.

Custom Button Mapping:

Utilize the Xbox Accessories app (available on Xbox consoles and Windows 10) to customize button mapping and other controller settings to suit your preferences.

Maintenance

Cleaning:

To maintain your controller's condition, wipe it regularly with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth can be used, ensuring no moisture enters openings. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.

Battery Care:

If using disposable AA batteries, remove them if the controller will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage. If using a rechargeable battery pack (sold separately), follow the manufacturer's instructions for charging and care.

Troubleshooting

  • Controller not turning on: Ensure batteries are correctly installed and charged. Try new batteries.
  • Controller not pairing: Ensure both the controller and console/PC are in pairing mode. Move closer to the device. Restart both the controller and the device. For PC, ensure Bluetooth drivers are up to date.
  • Input lag or disconnection: Reduce interference by moving closer to the console/PC. Ensure no other wireless devices are causing interference. Update controller firmware via the Xbox Accessories app.
  • Buttons or analog sticks not responding correctly: Clean around the buttons and sticks. If issues persist, consider updating controller firmware or contacting support.
