1. Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the operation and maintenance of your Kodak PIXPRO AZ252 Point & Shoot Digital Camera. The AZ252 is designed for ease of use while offering advanced features for capturing high-quality photographs and videos. 2. What's in the Box

Upon opening the package, verify that all the following items are included:

  • Neck Strap

3. Setup

3.1. Inserting Batteries

The Kodak PIXPRO AZ252 camera operates on four AA batteries. Locate the battery compartment on the bottom of the camera. Open the compartment cover and insert the four AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment. Close the cover securely.

3.2. Inserting a Memory Card

The camera supports Micro SDHC flash memory cards up to 32 GB. Open the memory card slot cover, typically located near the battery compartment. Insert the memory card with the gold contacts facing down until it clicks into place. To remove, press the card gently to release it. Ensure the camera is powered off before inserting or removing the memory card.

3.3. Attaching the Neck Strap

Thread the neck strap through the strap lugs on both sides of the camera body. Secure the strap firmly to prevent accidental drops.

4. Operating the Camera

4.1. Powering On/Off

Press the power button, usually located on the top panel, to turn the camera on or off. The 3-inch LCD screen will illuminate upon power-on.

4.2. Taking Photos

To take a photo, frame your subject using the LCD screen. Press the shutter button halfway down to allow the camera to focus (Autofocus). Once focused, press the shutter button all the way down to capture the image. The camera features a 16 MP photo sensor for clear images.

4.3. Using Optical Zoom

The AZ252 features a 25x optical zoom lens, allowing you to magnify distant subjects without compromising image quality. Use the zoom lever, typically located around the shutter button, to zoom in (T) or out (W). The lens has a minimum focal length of 4.3mm and a maximum of 223.6mm.

4.4. Recording Videos

To record video, switch the camera to video mode (if applicable, often a dedicated button or dial setting). Press the record button to start and stop recording. The camera supports HD 720p video recording at 30 frames per second (MOV format).

4.5. Wide Angle Lens

The camera is equipped with a 24mm wide-angle lens, ideal for capturing expansive landscapes or group photos where you need to fit more into the frame.

4.6. Optical Image Stabilization (OIS)

The built-in Optical Image Stabilization helps reduce blur caused by camera shake, especially in low light or when using the zoom. This feature automatically activates to ensure sharper images.

4.7. Panorama Capture

The camera supports panorama capture, allowing you to stitch multiple images together to create a single, wide panoramic shot. Refer to the camera's on-screen menu for specific instructions on activating and using this mode.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Cleaning the Camera

  • Lens: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for camera lenses. Gently wipe in a circular motion. For stubborn smudges, use a small amount of lens cleaning solution applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens.
  • Body: Wipe the camera body with a soft, dry cloth. For dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using strong cleaning agents or solvents.
  • LCD Screen: Use a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Avoid pressing too hard.

5.2. Storage

When not in use, store the camera in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Remove batteries if the camera will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
