Product Overview

The Kaito KA230 is a compact and portable AM/FM radio designed for excellent reception and ease of use. It features a high-sensitivity Silicon Lab IC for clear audio, a telescopic antenna, and a convenient belt clip.

Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the radio.
  2. Slide the cover downwards to open the compartment.
  3. Insert two (2) AAA batteries, ensuring the correct positive (+) and negative (-) polarity as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover by sliding it upwards until it clicks securely into place.

2. Antenna Extension

For optimal FM reception, gently extend the telescopic antenna located on the top of the radio to its full length. For AM reception, the internal antenna is typically sufficient, but adjusting the radio's orientation may improve signal quality.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off and Band Selection

Locate the AM/FM/OFF switch on the side of the radio. Slide the switch to your desired band (AM or FM) to turn the radio on. Slide it to the "OFF" position to power down the unit.

2. Tuning to a Station

Use the "TUNING" wheel on the side of the radio to scan for stations. The frequency dial on the front panel will indicate the current frequency. A red LED light labeled "BATT/TUNE" will illuminate when a strong signal is received, indicating successful tuning.

3. Volume Control

Adjust the listening volume using the "VOL" wheel, also located on the side of the radio, above the power/band switch.

4. Headphone Use

For private listening, plug the included earphones (or any standard 3.5mm headphones) into the headphone jack located on the side of the radio. The internal speaker will automatically mute when headphones are connected.

5. Using the Belt Clip

The Kaito KA230 features a built-in belt clip on its rear panel, allowing for convenient hands-free portability. Simply slide the clip onto your belt, pocket, or strap.
