Setup

1. Power Connection

The CRP9BK can be powered by an AC adapter or 2 AAA batteries (for backup). It is recommended to use the AC adapter for primary power.

• AC Power: Connect the provided AC adapter to the DC IN port on the back of the unit, then plug the adapter into a standard wall outlet.
• Battery Backup: Open the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the unit. Insert 2 AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). These batteries will maintain time and alarm settings during a power outage.

2. Initial Time Setting

Upon first power-up or after a prolonged power disconnection without battery backup, the display may flash. Follow these steps to set the time:

1. Press and hold the TIME SET button (location varies, typically on top or back) until the hour digits flash.
2. Use the HOUR and MINUTE buttons (or +/- buttons) to adjust the hour and minute.
3. Press TIME SET again to confirm and exit time setting mode.

Operating Instructions

1. Radio Operation (FM)

• Turning On/Off: Press the RADIO button to turn the FM radio on or off.
• Tuning:
  • Manual Tuning: Press the TUNE +/- buttons briefly to adjust the frequency step by step.
  • Auto Scan: Press and hold the TUNE +/- buttons to automatically scan for the next available station.
• Volume Adjustment: Use the VOLUME +/- buttons to adjust the sound level.
• Preset Stations:
  1. Tune to your desired station.
  2. Press and hold the PRESET button until the preset number flashes.
  3. Use the TUNE +/- buttons to select a preset number (1-10).
  4. Press PRESET again to save the station.
  5. To recall a preset, briefly press the PRESET button repeatedly to cycle through saved stations.

2. Alarm Setting (Dual Alarm)

The CRP9BK features two independent alarms (Alarm 1 and Alarm 2).

1. Press and hold the ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 button until the alarm time flashes.
2. Use the HOUR and MINUTE buttons (or +/- buttons) to set the desired alarm time.
3. Press the ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 button again to select the alarm source: Buzzer or Radio.
4. Press the ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 button one more time to confirm and activate the alarm. An alarm icon will appear on the display.
5. To Deactivate/Activate Alarm: Briefly press the ALARM 1 or ALARM 2 button to toggle the alarm on or off.

3. Snooze Function

When an alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE button to temporarily silence the alarm for approximately 9 minutes. The alarm will sound again after this period.

4. Sleep Timer

The sleep timer allows the radio to play for a set duration before automatically turning off.

1. While the radio is playing, press the SLEEP button repeatedly to cycle through available sleep times (e.g., 90, 60, 30, 15 minutes, OFF).
2. The radio will automatically turn off after the selected time.

5. Display Brightness and Projection

• Display Brightness: Press the DIMMER button (or similar) repeatedly to adjust the brightness level of the LED display.
• Time Projection:
  • Press the PROJECTOR button to turn the time projection on or off.
  • Rotate the projection lens on the side of the unit to adjust the focus and angle of the projected time.

6. USB Charging

Connect your smartphone or other USB-powered device to the USB port on the back of the CRP9BK to charge it. Ensure the clock radio is connected to AC power for optimal charging performance.

Maintenance

• Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
• Battery Replacement: Replace the AAA backup batteries annually or when the battery indicator appears on the display to ensure continuous timekeeping during power outages.
