Connecting Your System
- Power Off: Ensure the amplifier is turned OFF before making any connections.
- Input Connections: Connect your audio source (e.g., mixer, DJ controller) to the XLR or 1/4" inputs on the rear panel. Use balanced cables for optimal performance.
- Output Connections: Connect your passive loudspeakers to the Speakon or 5-Way binding banana plug outputs. Ensure correct polarity (+ to + and - to -).
- Mode Selection: Use the Mode switch to select your desired operating mode (Stereo, Parallel, or Bridged).
- Crossover Setting: Adjust the Crossover switch based on your speaker setup (Bypass for full-range speakers, Sub 160Hz or Sub 80Hz for subwoofers).
- Power On: Once all connections are secure, turn the amplifier ON using the front panel power switch.
Operating
Front Panel Operation
- Adjusting Volume: Use the Channel 1 and Channel 2 level controls to set the desired output volume for each channel.
- Monitoring Status: Observe the LED indicators:
- Signal LED: Illuminates when an audio signal is present.
- Clip LED: Illuminates when the input signal is too high, causing clipping or distortion. Reduce the input level from your source or the amplifier's channel level.
- Protect LED: Illuminates if the amplifier detects a fault (e.g., short circuit, overheating) and activates protection mode.
- Bridge LED: Illuminates when the amplifier is operating in Bridged mode.
Operating Modes
- Stereo Mode: Each channel operates independently, providing separate left and right audio signals. Ideal for standard stereo setups.
- Parallel Mode: Both channels receive the same input signal but operate independently. Useful for driving multiple speakers with a mono signal.
- Bridged Mode: Combines the power of both channels into a single, higher-power output. Typically used for driving a single, high-power subwoofer.
Crossover Functionality
- Bypass: Sends a full-range audio signal to the outputs. Suitable for main speakers.
- Sub 160Hz / Sub 80Hz: Activates a low-pass filter, allowing only frequencies below 160Hz or 80Hz (respectively) to pass through. Essential when driving subwoofers to prevent higher frequencies from reaching them.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly wipe the exterior of the amplifier with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Ventilation: Ensure the front and rear ventilation openings are clear of dust and obstructions to maintain proper airflow and prevent overheating. The variable speed cooling fan helps regulate internal temperature.
- Fuse Replacement: If the amplifier does not power on, check the fuse located near the AC power input on the rear panel. Replace with a fuse of the same type and rating (refer to specifications for details).
