  1. Hold the sharpener firmly on a stable surface or in your hand, ensuring the hand guard protects your fingers.
  2. Insert the knife blade into the "Knife Sharpening" slot (refer to Figure 2).
  3. Pull the knife blade through the slot from heel to tip, applying moderate downward pressure.

  4. Pull the blade through, applying light pressure.
  5. Repeat for the other blade.

Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and effectiveness of your SHARPAL 103N sharpener:

  • After each use, wipe down the sharpening elements with a damp cloth to remove metal filings and debris.
  • Do not immerse the sharpener in water.
  • Store the sharpener in a dry place.
  • The sharpening abrasive materials are designed for durability and should not wear out under normal use.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter difficulties achieving the desired sharpness:

  • Blade not sharpening: Ensure you are using the correct sharpening slot or abrasive for the specific blade type. Verify that the blade is properly aligned with the abrasive and not the metal stop, especially for single-beveled tools.
  • Inconsistent results: Maintain consistent pressure and angle throughout the sharpening stroke. Ensure the blade is pulled through the entire length of the abrasive.
  • Difficulty understanding instructions: For visual guidance, consider searching for official SHARPAL 103N sharpening demonstration videos online.
