Before installing or operating the 6 Sigma SP450 Nitrous Oxide Kit, please read and understand all safety warnings and instructions. Nitrous oxide systems involve pressurized gas and require careful handling.

3. Setup and Installation

The 6 Sigma SP450 Nitrous Oxide Kit is designed for easy installation using basic hand tools. Follow these steps carefully to ensure correct and safe setup.

3.1 Nitrous System Installation

  1. Mount the NOS GO Button Dispenser: Choose a convenient and secure location on your ATV's handlebars or frame. Use the provided UV resistant zip ties or a suitable bracket to firmly attach the dispenser.
  2. Connect NOS Hose: Cut the 5 ft of 3/16 clear poly NOS hose to the required length. Connect one end to the NOS GO Button Dispenser and the other end to the 3/16" nozzle.
  3. Install 3/16" Nozzle & Tee Fitting: Integrate the 3/16" nozzle into your ATV's air intake system. The tee poly fitting can be used to create a secure connection point. Ensure the nozzle is positioned to effectively deliver nitrous oxide into the engine's air stream.
  4. Insert Nitrous Bottle: Open the dispenser and carefully insert one of the 16 gram nitrous bottles. Close the dispenser securely. The Velcro strap can be used to further secure the bottle or for easy replacement.
  5. Secure Hoses and Components: Use the remaining UV resistant zip ties to neatly route and secure all hoses and components, preventing them from interfering with moving parts or being damaged by heat.

3.2 Boost Bottle Installation (2-Stroke Engines Only)

The re-purposed 20cc boost bottles are designed for 2-stroke engines only. Installing these can further optimize engine response.

  1. Prepare Boost Bottles: The provided boost bottles are re-purposed 16 gram nitrous chargers. They are plain silver and can be painted to match your ATV's aesthetics if desired.
  2. Connect Boost Bottle Hose: Use the 2 ft of 3/16 clear poly boost bottle hose to connect the boost bottles to your engine's intake manifold or carburetor boot. The tee poly fittings can assist in creating a secure connection.
  3. Mount Boost Bottles: Secure the boost bottles in a suitable location, ensuring they do not interfere with other components and are protected from excessive heat or physical damage.

Refer to the "Complete instructions for Boost Bottle Install" included in your kit for detailed diagrams and specific placement recommendations for your ATV model.

4. Operating Instructions

Once the 6 Sigma SP450 Nitrous Oxide Kit is installed, operating it is straightforward. Always ensure your engine is at operating temperature before engaging the nitrous system.

  1. Engine Warm-up: Allow your ATV engine to reach its normal operating temperature.
  2. Engage Nitrous: When you desire a power boost, press the NOS GO Button Dispenser. This will release a controlled amount of nitrous oxide into the engine's intake, providing an immediate increase in horsepower and torque.
  3. Duration of Use: Use nitrous in short bursts for acceleration or during specific performance demands. Avoid prolonged, continuous use.
  4. Engine Tuning: The kit includes "Engine Tuning Tech for 4 and 2 Strokes" to help you achieve optimum performance. It is crucial to understand how nitrous affects your engine's air/fuel ratio and to make necessary adjustments to prevent engine damage. Consult a professional if you are unsure about tuning.
