4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The scale operates on 2 AAA batteries, which are included. The battery compartment is located on the underside of the scale. Ensure correct polarity when inserting batteries.

4.2 Placement

For accurate readings, place the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface. Avoid placing it on soft surfaces like carpets or near sources of vibration, drafts, or extreme temperature changes.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

• To turn the scale ON, press the ON/OFF button. The display will show "88888" and then "0.000g".
• To turn the scale OFF, press and hold the ON/OFF button for a few seconds until the display turns off. The scale also features an auto-off function to conserve battery power.

5.2 Weighing Procedure

1. Place the scale on a stable, level surface.
2. Press the ON/OFF button to turn on the scale.
3. Wait for the display to show "0.000g".
4. Gently place the item(s) to be weighed onto the center of the weighing platform.
5. Read the weight displayed on the LCD screen.

5.3 Tare Function

The Tare function allows you to subtract the weight of a container or other items to get the net weight of your desired object.

1. Place the empty container on the weighing platform.
2. Press the TARE button. The display will reset to "0.000g".
3. Place the item(s) to be weighed into the container. The display will show the net weight of the item(s).

5.4 Unit Conversion (MODE)

The scale supports multiple weighing units. To switch between units:

• Press the MODE button repeatedly to cycle through the available units: grams (g), carats (ct), grains (gn), and pennyweights (dwt).

5.5 Piece Counting Function (PCS)

This function allows you to count a large number of uniform items.

1. Turn on the scale and ensure it reads "0.000g".
2. Press and hold the PCS button until a sample size (e.g., "25", "50", "75", "100") appears on the display.
3. Press the MODE button to select your desired sample size.
4. Place the exact number of items corresponding to the selected sample size onto the platform.
5. Press the PCS button again to confirm the sample. The display will now show "PCS" and the number of items.
6. You can now add more items of the same type, and the scale will count them.

6. Calibration

Calibration ensures the accuracy of your scale. It is recommended to calibrate the scale periodically or if you notice inconsistent readings. Use the included 10g and 20g calibration weights.

1. Turn on the scale and wait for it to stabilize at "0.000g".
2. Press and hold the MODE button until the display shows "CAL".
3. Press the MODE button again. The display will flash the required calibration weight (e.g., "20.000g").
4. Carefully place the specified calibration weight (e.g., 20g) onto the center of the weighing platform.
5. Wait for the display to show "PASS" and then return to normal weighing mode. This indicates successful calibration.
6. Remove the calibration weight.

7. Maintenance and Care

• Cleaning: Wipe the scale with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the scale in water. The stainless steel platform is easy to clean.
• Storage: Store the scale in a clean, dry environment. Keep the protective cover closed when not in use to prevent dust and damage.
• Handling: Handle the scale with care. Avoid dropping it or subjecting it to strong shocks, as this can damage the internal sensor.
• Batteries: Remove batteries if the scale will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
