1. Introduction

The SureFire M600V AA Scout Light is a versatile dual-spectrum LED WeaponLight designed for short- to medium-range applications. It offers both visible white light and non-visible infrared (IR) output, making it suitable for use with night-vision devices without requiring an IR filter. The robust construction features aerospace aluminum with a Mil-Spec hard-anodized finish, ensuring durability in challenging environments. It attaches securely to MIL-STD-1913 (Picatinny) rails via an integrated thumbscrew clamp.

2. Setup

2.1 Battery Installation

The M600V AA Scout Light is powered by two AA batteries. For maximum output and runtime, two AA lithium batteries are recommended and included. Alternatively, two readily available AA alkaline batteries can be used. To install or replace batteries, unscrew the tailcap, insert the batteries with the positive (+) end facing the head of the light, and then securely reattach the tailcap.

2.2 Mounting the WeaponLight

The M600V AA attaches quickly and securely to any MIL-STD-1913 (Picatinny) rail via its fully integrated thumbscrew clamp. Position the light on the desired section of the rail and tighten the thumbscrew until it is snug. Ensure the light is firmly attached to prevent movement during use.

For optimal placement and to minimize snag hazards, consider the orientation of the light relative to other accessories on your firearm.

2.3 Remote Tape Switch (Optional)

A remote tape switch with a 7-inch cable is available separately for fingertip control. This switch provides momentary-on activation. To install, replace the standard tailcap with the remote switch tailcap and connect the tape switch cable. Secure the tape switch pad to a convenient location on your firearm using appropriate mounting hardware (not included with the light).

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Mode Selection (White Light / Infrared)

The M600V AA features a dual-spectrum V-Series head. To switch between white light and infrared (IR) output, simply twist the engraved head. Ensure the desired mode (WH for white, IR for infrared) is aligned with the indicator mark on the light body.

3.2 Light Activation

The light is activated by a click-type tailcap switch:

• Momentary-On: Press the tailcap switch partially. Release to turn off.
• Constant-On: Press the tailcap switch further until it clicks. Press again to turn off.

If using a remote tape switch, press the user-positionable pad for momentary-on activation.

3.3 Disable Mode

For stealth operations or transport, the self-locking V-Series head selector can be turned to the "disable" mode. This prevents accidental activation of the light.

5. Maintenance

• Cleaning: Periodically clean the lens with a soft, lint-free cloth. For the body, use a damp cloth and mild soap if necessary. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
• O-Rings and Seals: Inspect O-rings and gasket seals for any signs of wear or damage. Replace if necessary to maintain water and dust resistance. Apply a thin coat of silicone grease to O-rings to keep them pliable.
• Battery Compartment: Keep the battery compartment clean and free of debris. Remove batteries during prolonged storage to prevent leakage.

6. Troubleshooting

If your M600V AA Scout Light is not functioning as expected, consider the following:

• No Light Output:
  • Check battery orientation and ensure they are fresh.
  • Verify tailcap is fully tightened.
  • Inspect the head for proper mode selection (White/IR).
• Intermittent Light:
  • Ensure tailcap and head are securely tightened.
  • Clean battery contacts and threads.
  • Replace batteries.
• IR Mode Not Working:
  • Confirm the head is twisted to the IR setting.
  • Ensure you are using a night-vision device to observe IR output, as it is not visible to the naked eye.
