4.1. Controls and Connections

  • Footswitch: Engages or disengages the tuner. When engaged, the display activates and the signal is muted for silent tuning. When disengaged, the signal passes through unaffected (true bypass).
  • Input Jack (1/4" TS): Connect your instrument here.
  • Output Jack (1/4" TS): Connect to your amplifier or other effects pedals.
  • DC 9V Power Input: Connect a standard 9V DC power adapter (center negative) here.
  • LED Display: Shows the note name and tuning accuracy. Red LEDs indicate flat or sharp, blue LEDs indicate in-tune.

5. Setup Instructions

5.1. Power Connection

  1. Ensure your power adapter is a standard 9V DC, center-negative type. Using an incorrect power supply can damage the unit.
  2. Connect the 9V DC power adapter to the DC 9V input jack on the pedal.
  3. Plug the power adapter into a suitable wall outlet.

5.2. Instrument Connection

  1. Connect your instrument (guitar, bass, etc.) to the Input jack of the tuner pedal using a standard 1/4" instrument cable.

5.3. Amplifier/Effects Chain Connection

  1. Connect the Output jack of the tuner pedal to your amplifier or the input of the next pedal in your effects chain using a standard 1/4" instrument cable.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Powering On/Off

  • The pedal powers on automatically when a 9V DC power supply is connected.
  • To engage the tuner mode, press the footswitch. The LED display will illuminate, and your instrument's signal will be muted.
  • To disengage the tuner mode and return to true bypass, press the footswitch again. The LED display will turn off, and your instrument's signal will pass through to your amplifier.

6.2. Tuning Process

  1. Engage the tuner by pressing the footswitch.
  2. Play a single note on your instrument. The LED display will show the detected note name (e.g., E, A, D, G, B, E for guitar).
  3. Observe the red and blue LEDs on the display:
    • Red LEDs on the left: The note is flat. Tune up.
    • Red LEDs on the right: The note is sharp. Tune down.
    • Blue LEDs in the center: The note is in tune.
  4. Adjust your instrument's tuning pegs until the blue LEDs in the center of the display are illuminated, indicating the note is accurately tuned.
  5. Repeat for all strings.
  6. Once tuning is complete, press the footswitch to disengage the tuner and resume playing.

6.3. Display Interpretation

The large LED display provides visual feedback:

  • The central large character indicates the detected note (e.g., 'E' for E string).
  • The array of smaller LEDs above the note character indicates pitch deviation. The goal is to have the central blue LEDs lit.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the pedal's exterior. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the pedal in a dry environment, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight. Disconnect power when not in use for extended periods.
  • Power Supply: Always use a regulated 9V DC, center-negative power supply to prevent damage.
  • Connections: Periodically check all cable connections for wear and tear. Ensure jacks are free of dust and debris.

8. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
No power/Display off Incorrect power supply; loose power connection; faulty power adapter. Ensure a 9V DC center-negative power adapter is used and securely connected. Test with a different power adapter if available.
Inaccurate tuning readings External noise interference; playing multiple strings; faulty instrument cable. Ensure you are playing only one string at a time. Minimize background noise. Try a different instrument cable. Ensure proper intonation on your instrument.
No sound when tuner is bypassed Faulty instrument cable; incorrect connection; amplifier issue. Check all cable connections. Test cables individually. Ensure your amplifier is working correctly.
Signal loss or added noise Faulty cables; power supply issues; pedal malfunction. Ensure all cables are in good condition. Verify power supply stability. If issues persist, contact customer support.
