Installation Instructions
Follow these steps for easy, tool-free installation of your PURELINE MWF water filter.
- Locate Filter Compartment: Identify the water filter compartment in your refrigerator. This is typically located in the upper right corner of the fresh food section, or in the base grille.
- Remove Old Filter:
- For filters in the fresh food section: Rotate the old filter counter-clockwise until it unlocks and pull it straight out.
- For filters in the base grille: Push the release button or tab, then pull the filter out.
Note: A small amount of water may drip out. Have a towel ready.
- Prepare New Filter: Remove the new PURELINE filter from its packaging. Remove the protective cap, if present.
- Insert New Filter:
- For filters in the fresh food section: Align the new filter with the filter housing and push it in until it stops. Then, rotate it clockwise until it locks into place. You may feel a slight resistance.
- For filters in the base grille: Push the new filter into the housing until it clicks securely.
- Flush the System: After installation, dispense approximately 2-3 gallons of water through the refrigerator's water dispenser. This flushes air from the system and removes any carbon fines from the new filter. The water may appear cloudy or discolored initially; this is normal. Continue flushing until the water runs clear.
- Reset Filter Indicator: Most refrigerators have a filter change indicator light. Refer to your refrigerator's user manual for specific instructions on how to reset it. Typically, this involves pressing and holding a "Filter Reset" or "Water Filter" button for 3-5 seconds.

Operating Instructions
Once installed, the PURELINE MWF filter operates automatically to provide filtered water and ice. Ensure proper flushing after installation or replacement to guarantee optimal performance.
- Initial Flushing: As described in the installation steps, it is crucial to flush 2-3 gallons of water through the dispenser immediately after installing a new filter. This process purges air from the water lines and removes any loose carbon particles, ensuring clear, clean water.
- Water Dispensing: Use your refrigerator's water dispenser as usual. The filter will continuously purify the water as it passes through.
- Ice Production: The filter also supplies purified water to the ice maker, improving the taste and clarity of your ice.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance, primarily timely filter replacement, is essential for consistent water quality.
- Filter Replacement Schedule: Replace your PURELINE MWF water filter every 6 months, or after filtering 300 gallons of water, whichever comes first. This ensures continued reduction of contaminants and optimal water flow.
- Monitoring Water Flow: A noticeable decrease in water flow from the dispenser can indicate that the filter is nearing the end of its lifespan and requires replacement.
- Filter Change Indicator: Pay attention to your refrigerator's filter change indicator light. Replace the filter when the light turns on or changes color, and then reset the indicator.

Figure 5: Filter Lifespan. The filter is designed to provide 300 gallons of clean water and should be replaced every 6 months for best results.
