1. Introduction

This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation of your Pioneer Elite SC-LX901 11.2 Channel Network AV Receiver. Please read this manual thoroughly before using your receiver and retain it for future reference.

The Pioneer Elite SC-LX901 is an advanced 11.2-channel Class D3 amplifier designed to deliver immersive audio experiences. It supports the latest multi-dimensional surround sound formats, including DTS:X and Dolby Atmos, and features Reflex Optimizer technology for Dolby-enabled speakers. This receiver is ready for Ultra HD (4K/60p/4:4:4) upscaling and pass-through, as well as HDR/BT.2020 standards, ensuring impressive video quality. Enjoy a wide range of entertainment options with built-in internet radio, various network streaming services, and Google Cast for casting music from your mobile device. The multi-zone feature allows for powered Zone 2 and Zone 3 output, expanding your audio possibilities.

Upon unpacking, please ensure all the following items are present:

3.1. Unpacking and Placement

Carefully remove the receiver from its packaging. Place the receiver on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation. Ensure there is sufficient space around the unit for heat dissipation. Avoid placing it near heat sources or in direct sunlight.

3.2. Connecting Speakers

The SC-LX901 supports an 11.2 channel configuration. Connect your speakers to the corresponding terminals on the rear panel. Pay close attention to polarity (+ to + and - to -) for optimal sound quality. Ensure your speakers have an impedance rating between 4 and 16 ohms.

For Dolby Atmos and DTS:X setups, refer to the speaker layout diagrams in the full user manual for optimal placement of height or up-firing speakers.

3.3. Connecting Audio/Video Devices

Connect your source devices (e.g., Blu-ray player, game console, cable box) to the HDMI input ports on the rear panel. The receiver features 8 HDMI inputs and 2 HDMI outputs. Use high-quality HDMI cables for 4K/HDR content. Connect your TV or projector to the HDMI OUT MAIN port.

Additional analog and digital audio inputs (optical, coaxial) are available for other devices. A USB port is provided for media playback.

3.4. Network Connection

For network features, connect the receiver to your home network. You can use an Ethernet cable for a wired connection or attach the provided wireless LAN antennas for a Wi-Fi connection. Follow the on-screen setup guide to configure network settings.

3.5. Power Connection

After all other connections are made, connect the power cord to the receiver and then to a suitable AC outlet. Do not connect the power cord until all other connections are complete.

3.6. Initial Setup and MCACC Calibration

Turn on the receiver and your TV. Follow the on-screen instructions for initial setup. Use the supplied setup microphone to perform the Multi-Channel Acoustic Calibration System (MCACC) for optimal sound performance tailored to your listening environment.
