4. Setup

4.1 Subwoofer Placement

The placement of your subwoofer significantly impacts its sound performance. Consider the following:

  • Corner Placement: Placing the subwoofer in a corner of the room can enhance bass output, making it sound louder.
  • Wall Placement: Placing it along a wall, but not in a corner, can also provide good bass reinforcement.
  • Listening Position: Experiment with placing the subwoofer near your main listening position to find the best balance.
  • Avoid Obstructions: Ensure the subwoofer is not obstructed by furniture or other objects that could block its sound or ventilation.

    • Connect one end of an RCA audio cable (not included) to this jack.
    • Connect the other end of the RCA cable to the INPUT jack on the rear panel of the NS-SW050 subwoofer.

  • Power Switch: The main power switch is located on the rear panel. Set it to the "ON" position to enable the subwoofer.
  • Auto Standby: The NS-SW050 features an auto standby function. When the POWER switch is set to "ON", the subwoofer will automatically enter standby mode if no audio signal is detected for a period. It will power on automatically when an audio signal is received.
  • To completely power off the unit, set the POWER switch to "OFF" and unplug the power cable from the wall outlet.

5.2 Adjusting Volume

The VOLUME knob on the rear panel controls the output level of the subwoofer.

  • Start with the volume knob set to the middle position (around 5).
  • Play audio through your system and adjust the subwoofer volume to blend seamlessly with your main speakers. The bass should be felt, but not overpower the other frequencies.
  • Fine-tune the volume as needed for different content (movies, music).

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use chemical cleaning agents, as they may damage the finish.
  • Ventilation: Ensure that the ventilation openings are kept clear of dust and debris to prevent overheating.
