LED Indicators
- Power LED: Indicates the power status of the device.
- 2.4GHz LED: Indicates the status of the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band.
- 5GHz LED: Indicates the status of the 5GHz Wi-Fi band.
- Signal LED Ring: Displays the signal strength received from the main router.
4. Setup
Step 1: Power On
Plug the RE350 into a power outlet near your main router. Wait for the Power LED to turn solid blue.
Step 2: Optimal Placement
The Intelligent Signal LED Ring helps you find the best location for your range extender. A blue light indicates a strong connection to your router, while a red light indicates a weak connection. Place the extender between your router and the Wi-Fi dead zone.

Step 3: Connect to the Network (Two Methods)
Method 1: Using the WPS Button (Recommended)
- Press the WPS button on your main router.
- Within two minutes, press the WPS button on the RE350.
- The Signal LED Ring on the RE350 should turn solid blue, indicating a successful connection.
Method 2: Using a Web Browser
- Connect your computer or mobile device to the RE350's Wi-Fi network (e.g., 'TP-Link_Extender').
- Open a web browser and enter
http://tplinkrepeater.netor the IP address (refer to the Quick Installation Guide). - Follow the on-screen instructions to create a login password and select your main Wi-Fi network to extend.
- Confirm the settings, and the RE350 will restart and connect to your network.
5. Operating Modes
Range Extender Mode
In this mode, the RE350 wirelessly connects to your existing router and extends its Wi-Fi signal to areas with weak or no coverage. Devices connect to the RE350's extended network.
Access Point Mode
The RE350 can function as an Access Point (AP). Connect the RE350 to your router via an Ethernet cable, and it will create a new Wi-Fi network, converting your wired connection into a wireless one. This is useful for adding Wi-Fi capability to a wired-only network or creating a separate Wi-Fi network.
Gigabit Ethernet Port Usage
The RE350 features a Gigabit Ethernet port. This port allows you to connect a wired device, such as a smart TV, gaming console, or desktop computer, directly to the extender, providing a stable and high-speed wired connection to your extended wireless network.

6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use liquid cleaners.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the TP-Link website for firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
- Placement: Avoid placing the extender near sources of interference such as microwaves, cordless phones, or large metal objects.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Power: Ensure the extender is securely plugged into a working power outlet.
- Weak Signal (Red Signal LED): Relocate the extender closer to your main router until the Signal LED turns blue.
- Cannot Connect to Extended Network: Verify that the extender is successfully connected to your main router (blue Signal LED). Restart both the router and the extender.
- Slow Speeds: Ensure optimal placement. Consider connecting wired devices directly to the extender's Gigabit Ethernet port for better performance.
- Forgotten Password: Perform a factory reset by pressing and holding the Reset button for 5-10 seconds while the device is powered on.
