Product Overview

Robitussin Adult Maximum Strength Cough + Chest Congestion DM Max is an oral liquid medication designed to provide relief from cough and chest congestion. It acts as both a cough suppressant and an expectorant, helping to control coughing and loosen mucus.

This product is formulated for adults and children 12 years of age and over. It comes in a raspberry flavor.

Active Ingredients (per 20 mL)

Dextromethorphan HBr, USP 20 mg: Cough Suppressant
Guaifenesin, USP 400 mg: Expectorant

Uses

This product is used for the temporary relief of:

Cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation, as may occur with a cold.
Chest congestion by helping to loosen phlegm (mucus) and thin bronchial secretions to make coughs more productive.

Warnings

Do Not Use If:

You are currently taking a prescription monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) (certain drugs for depression, psychiatric, or emotional conditions, or Parkinson's disease), or for 2 weeks after stopping the MAOI drug. If you are unsure if your prescription drug contains an MAOI, consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this product.

Ask a Doctor Before Use If You Have:

Cough that occurs with excessive phlegm (mucus).
Cough that is persistent or chronic, such as occurs with smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis, or emphysema.

Stop Use and Ask a Doctor If:

Cough lasts more than 7 days, returns, or is accompanied by fever, rash, or persistent headache. These symptoms could indicate a serious condition.

Pregnancy and Breast-feeding:

If pregnant or breast-feeding, consult a health professional before use.

Keep Out of Reach of Children:

In case of overdose, seek medical help or contact a Poison Control Center immediately.

Setup and Operating Instructions

Preparation:

Ensure the provided dosing cup is clean and available for accurate measurement.
Read the entire label and drug facts panel before first use.
The bottle features a child-resistant cap. To open, push down and turn.

Dosage Directions:

Age	Dose
Adults and children 12 years and over	20 mL every 4 hours
Children under 12 years	Do not use

Do not exceed 6 doses in any 24-hour period.
Measure only with the dosing cup provided.
Keep the dosing cup with the product for future use.

Maintenance and Storage

Storage:

Store at controlled room temperature between 20-25°C (68-77°F).
Do not refrigerate.

Cleaning:

Rinse the dosing cup thoroughly with water after each use and allow it to air dry before storing with the product.

If symptoms persist or worsen after following the directions, or if new symptoms such as fever, rash, or persistent headache develop, discontinue use and consult a healthcare professional. This product is intended for temporary relief; prolonged symptoms may indicate a more serious condition requiring medical attention.
