Operating Instructions

Lighting the Charcoal:

  1. Open the top vent (Kontrol Tower) and bottom draft door fully.
  2. Add lump charcoal to the firebox. Avoid using briquettes as they can produce excessive ash and chemicals.
  3. Create a small well in the center of the charcoal and place a natural fire starter (e.g., tumbleweeds or electric starter). Do not use lighter fluid.
  4. Light the fire starter. Allow the charcoal to ignite and develop a small bed of embers, typically 10-15 minutes.

Temperature Control:
