Setup and Installation

The Amana NTW4516FW is designed for freestanding installation. Before connecting the appliance, ensure you have the necessary utilities in place, including water supply (hot and cold), drainage, and a 120-volt electrical outlet. Unpacking and Placement:

• Carefully remove all packaging materials, including any shipping bolts or foam blocks.
• Move the washer to its desired location, ensuring adequate clearance around the unit for ventilation and access.
• Level the washer by adjusting the leveling legs at the bottom corners. Use a level to confirm the appliance is perfectly balanced.

Connecting Utilities:

• Connect the hot and cold water inlet hoses to the corresponding valves and to the back of the washer. Ensure connections are tight to prevent leaks.
• Securely place the drain hose into a standpipe or laundry tub, ensuring it is properly secured to prevent dislodging during the drain cycle.
• Plug the power cord into a grounded 120-volt electrical outlet.

Loading the Washer:

Adding Detergent and Additives:

Add the recommended amount of high-efficiency (HE) detergent directly into the washer tub before adding clothes, or follow the detergent manufacturer's instructions. For liquid chlorine bleach, use the designated dispenser. This model does not feature a fabric softener dispenser, so fabric softener should be added manually during the rinse cycle if desired.

Selecting Wash Settings:

• Water Level: Use the Water Level knob to select the appropriate water level for your load. Options include Auto Sensing, Deep Water Wash, and other specific levels.
• Wash Temperature: Select the desired wash water temperature using the Wash Temperature knob. Options typically include Hot, Warm, Cool, and Cold.
• Wash Cycle: Turn the Cycle Selector knob to choose from 8 available wash cycles, such as Heavy, Casual, Delicate, Bulky Items & Sheets, Drain/Spin, and Rinse/Spin.

Starting a Cycle:

Once settings are selected, close the washer lid and press the START/PAUSE/UNLOCK LID button to begin the wash cycle. The washer will sense the load size and begin filling with water. The lid will lock during operation for safety.
